ABOUT MYSTRESS
Mystress was born in the depths of London's fetish scene where industrial electronica evokes exotic creatures of the night in a world of seduction, submission and controlled chaos.

Her style is uncompromising

Mystress is Priscilla Tonkin, an Australian singer/songwriter/producer and international burlesque showgirl aka Sapphira. She collaborates with the best dance music producers to create a sound that is original and haunting set to captivate a dance floor near you.

Her debut club release ‘Mistress’ is with prolific Bristolian breaks trio Ways & Means and samples a taste-test from her work on a forthcoming album due to be unleashed in later 2010. The album blends Mystress’ provocative lyrics in an kaleidoscopic soundscape of genres spanning drum n bass, break beat, house, electronica and epic orchestral arrangements as she works with key collaborator DJ/producer/musician Tonestepa.

The pair have a wide range of skills developed throughout their individual musical careers spanning over 20 years a piece. Both have toured the globe extensively on different projects honing their skills performing at clubs, dance halls, theatres, cabaret venues and festivals worldwide. Tonestepa’s work running at studio for 15 years is testament to his aptitude in finding the best sounds and effects to lure Mystress to life. Mystress’ own career as an artist, MySpace employee with a prevalent PR and marketing background add to the project’s strength and individuality.

They bring their knowledge, skills and experience together using the wonders of broadband technology writing from separate corners of the globe communicating the universal language of music. A sound reminiscent of Portishead, Massive Attack, Lamb and Goldfrapp emerges and evolves to take you on a journey of guilty aural pleasure.
