Car Insurance
Anyone else doing their nut in over car insurance. Most insurers wont touch anyone who work in the entertainment industry. I sometimes use my car to go to gigs and am stuggling to find an insurer that wont cripple me!

of no use to you, but i remember finding it hilarious that the insurer's iggy pop shills for won't insure musicians

Iggy Pop advert banned because rock star would not be covered - Telegraph
can you not just get regular insurance under your day job then be 'visiting' someplace if something happened to it??
-
ooh also, have you called equity as they would be your best bet; sure its something they've experience with. They might even be able to recommend someone?

Unfortunately using your day job and not mentioning your part time job technically means you cant claim fuel etc back on expenses.....
I will contact equity.

I'm with Diamond, as a full-time DANCER. My insurance policy is absolutely affordable.
They have additional subdivisions for other areas of the ents industry.

im with quinn, I am registered as a full time dancer and my boyfriend a musician - I had no probs and they are pretty cheap. I was talking about this in the car the other day when i was taking my bfs new band somewere... I would hate to see the cost of an accident with them in the car as two of them are in bloc party and la roux... damn the claim if i put them out of work!!

Try driving a long wheel based van after one year of driving....it's a challenge to get anyone to touch it for under a grand!

My problem is that I have a vanilla day job as well so the two jobs combined boosted the insurance somewhat. All sorted now methinks.

I would love to drive, I have an 8 month old and rarely get to leave the house cause taxis and public transport are ridiculously complicated, but insurance is too effing expensive I'd never be able to afford it.
Along with that, I'd have to pay £25 per driving lesson, £80 to sit my test, god knows how much to buy a car and then £1400 a year to insure it!
I live in northern Ireland and insurance here is infamously expensive, as is car tax and mot.
How anyone can afford to drive is beyond me lol
but post office insurance is supposed to be the cheapest, over here anyway.
What about Shiela's Wheels? The woman only insurers, would they not be more understanding of your situation?
.. What am I saying? It's car insurance.. They're not understanding of anyones situation! Ahaha
