    Unhappy Best aftersun?

    Hi all,

Well brains here managed to turn myself into a (rather sore!) lobster over the weekend.

What have you folks found to be the best aftersun/ sunburn treatment?

My aftersun doesn't seem to be much use

I would try aloe vera, nice and natural and it normally works well.

The green alow vera gel - put it in the freezer for an hour then apply.

    Perfect.

One of the best remedies I've ever used is to dip some gauze into room temperature milk and press it against the area. You need to leave it there for around 15 minutes for it to really have an effect though.

You can also run a cool bath and add a cup of vinegar. Sounds bizarre but the vinegar draws out some of the heat in your skin and relieves the pain.

I'm an aloe vera girl too, but see if you can get a spray rather than a cream. I find that just massaging the cream in, even very gently, inflames the burned area temporarily. I use a spray that you just spritz on and leave, but I buy it in Italy, which isn't much help for you.

    Poor you!

I use my genes, this in turns causes me to produce more melanin and makes my skin darker and stops me from burning.
Unfortunately it also makes people ask me if I've been on the sun beds during winter or if I have liver problems.
