    If the premise of the coach was that the cost of the coach would be split fairly amongst those going, and you said you were going but bailed out, then you should pay.

    Imagine going to the shops, phoning your friend to ask them if they wanted anything and arriving with the stuff they wanted only to have them shrug their shoulders.

    If however there was no group thing going with splitting the cost etc then sure, you ahouldn't have to pay. Imagine if everyone decided not to go apart from one person. Would the coach still take them for £40?

    Always be honest with your clients, if you aren't they'll have false expectations of you and there's nothing worse for business than a client who's been sold some magic beans. Even more so when all they wanted was their picture taken.
