Actually Medway has very good links to London, the fast London (Victoria) service runs from Gillingham/Chatham, it only makes a couple of stops.

I would definitely recommend Tunbridge Wells. There are trains direct to London (approx 40mins on train) and it is a really nice town. Getting to the medway area from there is also easy - about 30mins in car, but trains are also easy.
Alternatively Tonbridge is good, the town isn't as nice, but the transport links are perfect for London and Medway.
Both Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge are relatively small towns, and are surrounded by lovely countryside, but they do have good shops and bars if you fancy staying local. (T.wells is better for shops/bars).

Always be honest with your clients, if you aren't they'll have false expectations of you and there's nothing worse for business than a client who's been sold some magic beans. Even more so when all they wanted was their picture taken.

Lol very mixed opinions about Kent! Not that alarmed by anti-social behaviour, after ten years in the south of Manchester it kind of makes me feel at home lol
