An Introduction?
Hello everyone,
I wasn't sure where to write my first post - I figured it should be an introduction, so I'll put it here. Let me know if I've put it in the wrong place!
I've had an MoB account for a while, and have even gone through a name change, but this is my first ever post. I'm incredibly shy in new places! I've been living between Essex and Cambridge for the last 3 years whilst completing my degree, and I'm two exams away from finishing it completely. After summer, I'm relocating to Glasgow in hope of one day pursuing a Clinical Doctorate.
That aside, I do love burlesque! I've been to Salon Rouge and Bump n' Grindhouse (which is sadly no longer with us) in Cambridge, and Club Noir in Glasgow. I really admire this kind of performance art, and adore the wonderful variety of performances and fashions. I like to play with the idea of performing - I was a compere for my university's Burlesque Showcase, because I was too scared of performing! But now I like the idea of performing at least once. It hasn't been realised whilst I've been at university, due to constraints on time and money. But it is something I'd like to do one day
And I'm hoping to check out La Cafe Reve in London sometime this summer. When in Glasgow, I may take up some burlesque dancing lessons!
Though when I can't afford the fashions, accessories, I tend to draw them, so I may put up some designs sometime. I have way too many ideas for costumes and performance ideas in my head~
So, very nice to meet you all! Looking forward to hearing from some of you =)WARNINGWarning: This is an Old Thread

if you are in glasgow hun, then head to gypsy charms regular lessons at dance house. you could also check out dolly tartans regular workshops. both of these ladies are super performers and lovely ladies too. theres always plenty on between edinburgh and glasgow soyou should never be lost for a night out regardless of the style of burlesque you prefer. andastly welcome welcome welcome. xxxxxx

Welcome! I would really recomend that you go to some lessons, I'm currently learning in Cardiff and loving it. Performed for the first time on the stage last night for an audience of over 200 and it was such a thrill. Classes in my area start at £5 for an hour lesson which is really reasonable especially as we have a fab teacher. x
