oh dear. not even actually paying half, putting down "just less than" half, so he wasnt even going to put down his full share???? you are well shot of him. the fact he didnt even OFFER to pay, not a chance!!
Leon and me take turns paying when we go out for dinner, but on the first few dates, he picked up the cheque and wouldnt let me pay until i eventually didnt give him a choice!
i know its equal rights and all that, but still..... x

I'm a liberated woman too, and do insist on paying my way (as I'm sure all of us do) but his behaviour is unbelievable.
I can't believe his cheek to mention a second date!
It's true what they say, they are like buses... you won't be waiting long for the next one to arrive!

I actually found myself covering my face with my hands reading this, and can only hope that a friend should show him the fine measures of how a gentleman should conduct himself in the prescence of a Lady. Even if the meal was not within his means, a fine night could of been enjoyed at any vareity of fine supper establishments at half the price without any pretension on price. A drink afterwards at any club or bar I find may be shared when buying rounds quite acceptable.
Do keep us updated, though I fear you may not wish to repeat the experience, and NO dont invite him round to cook you a meal, you just might be presented with the shopping bill.
