Can anyone remember what this 1980s series was called?
I've recently got back in touch with those brilliant costume comedys Jennifer Saunders and Dawn French were involved in during the late 1980s... Just been watching their 'Let Them Eat Cake' which is fabulous... and nw I'm trying to remember what the hell another series was called...
it involved Ade Edmondson as a boy asking his cruel granny for stories or something like that. I think he had loads of sisters and each episode was about one of the sisters. From what I can remember he was trying to gather them up before the granny (or mother?) died...
What on earht was it called!?? I need to see it again!!

That was Girls On Top... it had Ruby Wax as the crazy flatmate (it was a bit like the Young Ones but with ladies and some very "radical 80s" feminism - ie loads of talk about periods, etc)
However, I loved the eccentric lady who lived downstairs - do you remember her? She wore chiffon dresses and was very flamboyant and theatrical; had stuffed dogs and used to put falsh eyelashes and mascara on her taxidermy... (I think I'm going to be like her when I'm older!!)
