What's your favourite comfort food?
I have nothing to bemoan. I've only 5 more days left before FREEDOM! when the kids go back to school. We've had lots of fun but all three of us are getting to the 'bored now' point. We've had enough of silly games in the rain, painting, watching bad movies, visiting free national trust/english heritage properties.
And I think we're all coming down with the case of the pflllrrr, that noise that you can't even be bothered to articulate, you're not ill, or sad, you're just pfllllrrr.
So we're in the mood for some comfort food. **** wants chocolate (no surprise there), ** wants an icecream float and I have a serious craving for coffee cake, or an omlette, or bread and butter pudding (I could go on....)
But what do you lot reckon is the king of all comfort foods?WARNINGWarning: This is an Old Thread

Here am I drooling over your wonderful food suggestions and trying to ignore the riot that's happening up in the kids bedroom. The amount of screaming at each other and stamping on the floor making the house shake...grrrr it's doing my head in. Why do I have to be a flipping social phobic stuck in a house with two little monsters. I feel so trapped at the mo. I've been summoning up my energies and guts because I'm going out two days running at the weekend and I don't think I can cope taking them out somewhere else where they're just going to shout at each other and me and I will just crumble.............sorry, this is a rant just to get it out of my system. I wish I was one of those Mum's who cope with everything that their little darlings but I just want to crawl into a corner and cry..........yep, crying now........

Thank you all
You're all lovelies
Ok - had a cry, threw them out into the garden and had a skipping competition, made them tea and put a dvd on for them...whilst I sip a nice Kahlua and Coke and eat my fish finger sandwich, made with soggy blotting paper white bread and lots of butter....feeling much better now. Sorry about that, it all just got to me.

For you, Tempest, and for Mum's everywhere, not forgetting my own.

Not a comfort food, but when we get in from dancing, whether it's training, rehearsing or just a social dance, I peel out of my sweaty clothes and run a bath,
O/H prepares a cheese platter, with lots of small, delicately sliced, cheese slices of various cheeses, savoury biscuits, small pickle onions, cherry tomatoes, and a few slices of cucumber.
All served with a large glass of Merlot.
My tummy's rumbling.
