Paypal sucks!
Grrr
I have been searching for the perfect present for my friend's children's naming day in 2.5 weeks and finally chose something on Etsy today.
On paypal we have a card registered and a verified bank account. We never use the card for funding as its a pre-pay so takes a few days for the money to go on, we purely have it for things that must be paid for online. As a rule paypal payments go through instantly but every so often, with seemingly no reason it decides we can only send an e-cheque which takes 7-9 business days to clear! And of course today is one of those days! Shipping is already going to be 5-10 business days so this is jsut too long, so I cancelled the transaction and my mum let me try her account which has a debit card and unverified bank account attached. She only uses it on ebay but has no problems. It wouldn't go through saying the card wasn't verified!
I am going to spontaneously combust! Why is paypal doing this to me!! I finally chose something I really wanted for them and I can't get it, or if I can it'll come well after the date I need it!WARNINGWarning: This is an Old Thread

Aww thankyou, I wanted something handmade though.
It was two handmade quilts I'd found. I'll keep hunting but I'm annoyed as it had taken me ages to choose something and I really liked what I'd found. Gah, I'm so annoyed!

I will put this warning here for all to read. Louise and I use Ebey quite a lot for sourcing out of date threads for her conservation work and for glass beads that are one offs or end of lines for the bits of jewellery we make.
Recently we have been getting spamed by at least 7 emails a day from people "all over the world" claiming we haven't either paid them or sent out items they bought from us.......................Paypal and Ebey both told us to NEVER open any email that does not actually have our email address at the top coz only Paypal and Ebey have that address and they NEVER ask for it from us. Be careful out there ya hear?
I would send Paypal a nice polite personal email and get them to tell you WHY they do what they did. Normally they are great at answering emails positively.

Another one people are trying to do is phish you by sending messages saying "I'm interested in this item you have for sale but I am confused because I see one just like it." followed by a link that asks you to sign in.
Didn't fool me though. I replied assuring them I only have one for sale. Didn't hear back. Odd that...
I love Paypal though. I've been lucky enough to not have had any problems with it.Snowflakes and Sparkles

OK, all sorted, nothing to do with spam (mmmm spam) it seems it may have been something to do with my account being bank funded, as I knew, and my mum's being debit card funded. Eventually got my friend's account to work
Am all happy now :-) Well I will be if they get here in time, anyone sense a customs hold up coming?
At least now I can get on with making bits to go with them :-)
