Oh Sweetie!
It's perfectly understandable to be upest and none of us think you are selfish! I'm not sure how much advice I can give not being familiar with agencies and musical theatre and the like.
Don't get downhearted. I'd imagine you've had a lot more experience since you last wrote off to all those agencies, therefore you will have a more impressive cv which stands you in better stead.
Do you have anyone who can help you out with sending off all the letters? Instead of thinking "They won't want me" think "I'm talented, I have a great cv, and somebody will want to represent me" because it's true.
You will be fine, I promise. :hug:Snowflakes and Sparkles

it really depends the sort of work you want !!
burlesque clubs book performers direct they cannot afford agencies fees
burlesque for the corporate world is booked by entertainment agencies with burlesque sections . or burlesque agencies like Better Chemistry, Lulu Spanx and Whoopee they will normaly only take on big names .
musical theatre agents are totally different and i don't know much about them.
good luck
don't post what you can e mail !! all agency websites have a contact page
give them a call and ask if they would be interested - many of them are saturated with burlesquers.

I was about to post what Red Sarah said about emailing as much as you can rather than posting out letters. It's saved me a lot of money while I've been job hunting, and it's greener too

I don't know anything about agencies/directories, but if you're a member of Spotlight, wouldn't someone be able to contact you through them?

Sorry to hear about your sad news, the advice given, has been very positive though,
this lot will never see you defeated.
Dani, I can't be sure if you intend to make a full time living at performing, because as Sarah says there is a surplus of burlesquers. I wondered if you might find a day job that had the flexibility to enable you to perform as and when.
And I am also wondering if this advice is somewhat silly, have you thought of writing to: The New Burlesque Times?
New Burlesque Times - Home Just being a quiet little fan in the audience, and I am always quiet, I don't know much about these things. But let's hear it for Dani

broomy is right .... it is VERY hard to make a real living off burlesque.
i struggle to pay the bills and everyone knows who i am !!
i make most of my living through my coorporate jobs doing a statue or stilts.
unless you have a full time management team like dita and immodesty it is unlikely you would ever be rolling in it !!
i think you should definately get a new musical theatre agent - try these
