Detoxing... anyone done it?
Hi
I am currently detoxing - I am on day 5 and now feel great however on day 2 & 3 I felt dreadful, tired, grumpy, hungry for sweets etc... just wondered if anyone else had ever done a detox and how often you do them?

i bought a detox kit out of boots it was a strange tasting mix of herbs that you put in to 500ml of water and sipped throughout the day. i only lasted one day it was horrible, my stomach felt sore and i had a really bad headache
my friends big sis is a nutritionist and she says detoxes are basically worthless. i don't know though cos they seem to work for some folk.

I would very much like to! I'm trying to cleanse my skin really and I'm researching supplements and stuff as well as trying to lessen my sugar and dairy intake. It's difficult to find out exactly what to do though xx

Ive used one, called "Alfred Vogels Detox Box" and it contains everything you need to do the detox plus some hints and tips on diet etc...He recommends doing a detox twice a year. Check out the link below or PM me for more details....
Vogel's Detox Box
The tinctures werent the most pleasant to take so to be honest as a non red meat eater, non drinker and non smoker the reason I decided to do it eludes me lol I came out in LOADS of spots :yuk:

I've done a couple of 10 day master cleanses, which I found very interesting. Had some days where I felt terrible, some which were ok. Over all I don't know how much physical difference it made to my body but it felt like an achievement psychologically and made me more aware of what I was eating/drinking, which got me some healthy habits (albeit temporarily).
At the moment I am making an effort to avoid sugar, white flour and various other bits and pieces and I'm liking it much more than the hardcore detox thing. I can have the odd morsel of something "naughty" every now and then without feeling like I've failed and I see myself keeping this up for a while longer (it's been a month). I used to pretty much subsist on cake and coffee with the odd glass of wine or piece of toast thrown in, so it's a big departure

I once did a detox where you eat nothing but fresh fruit and veg for a few days and drink only water but I'm such a toxed-out caffeine junkie that my system couldn't cope very well. Towards the end of day two I had an important business meeting where I felt like I had been drugged and could barely communicate by a series of mumbles and grunts. In the end I had to explain my problem and go off for a cup of tea and a sandwich so that I could drive home. Not something I'd care to repeat but I'm aware that there are less harsh forms of detox.

I prefer the fruit/veg/water only type detox (must do it again soon!) I tried the Boots detox kit and after the first day it made me really ill, I was bad for a week after
