I walked around a supermarket singing this when I was 3... or so my mother fondly tells me:
YouTube - I wanna dance with somebody
80s-tastic!
...hold on... I've just realised...
...was dancing my destiny?! *Disney moment* x

Last week I was watching something, well, not watching, more background noise. It was the sixties model, Twiggy, talking about the M&S advert, didn't notice the woman next to her at first, until someone called her, Elizabeth. It was of course, Lizzie Jagger, who is also in the M&S advert. I love Lizzie's 'look' so I've been having a rummage around in the YouTube archives, to see if I can find her Dad when he was the age that she is now.
And look what I found, and you gotta see Keith Richard, took some working out, but he's the one sitting on the floor to the right. Don't you just love YouTube? No secrets there.

My Dad's job was to repair jukeboxes in pubs and the like so used to come home with all the chart records, albeit the plastic wotsit missing out of the middle of the record. Still, our record player was posh and you could pull up a middle gizmo thingy so you could play them. (Lost yet??!!) Anyway, my childhood memories of music were these..
How old?! Yikes!!
:worried:
YouTube - yes sir i can boogie

Songs that bring back childhood memories for me are usually tied to repeated events... my dad always had the album this song was from in his car and on long drives we'd listen to it ...i could never remeber if it was a boy with a girl's name or a girl with a boy's voice... i loved her anyway, still do... it brings me back to being a little girl sitting in the car with my parents at night driving home from my grandparents

A couple of my favorites for very different reasons are:
James Taylor - How sweet it is to be loved by you - my dad used to sing this to me when I was young.
The Stylistics - I cant give you anything but my love - I grew up in the 70's and my parents played this all the time.
I just love listening to memory songs xDeb

It is often said that what goes around, comes around. There's a website somewhere, can't be arsed to look it up, that shows that there are many popular songs that are more than just a passing resemblance to a piece of classical music.
But if imitation is the best form of flattery, then this takes some beating.

Mmmbop by Hanson. I was the biggest Hanson fan when I was 10, and that song makes me so happy. It's just such a cheerful, summery song
