Losing Weight...
Hiya,
I just thought I'd post a wee topic here for anyone who's currently losing weight. Now I know the spirit of Burlesque is about loving our curves etc but it's losing weight that has given me the confidence to get into burlesque and want to start performing.
So saying that, I thought it might be nice to have a wee thread here for anyone who's losing weight to get that wee bit of extra motivation as and when needed.
Personally for me, I'm doing Weight Watchers at the moment, and it really seems to work for me - tonight I reached the half a stone milestone in 8 weeks so feeling pretty chuffed with myself :excited:

Hi honey
well done I did weight watchers and lost 2 and a half stone its great. that was a good few years ago and I have managed to keep it off. its about learning safe tips for eating so you do not fall into old traps.
I have put on half a stone in the last two months as many back has been bad and I have not been able to exercise. So I am trying to do it on my own using weight watcher recipes. I have dropped four pounds but I fancy losing another six. I think burlesque is about being confidant and I do feel confidant being a size 14 but I do want having a belly that is a bit more trim and to be a bit more fit.
Hugs

Too true! Anything that makes you confident should be applauded. I don't think i need to lose weight, but I do want to tone up, get fit and get rid of some of my jiggle (not all of it, the boy would never forgive me ...)
I think there was a weight loss thread started a couple of months back which had quite a few responses, it might be worth looking that one up?

Losing a bit of weight has certainly made me a bit more confident. Although after 20 years of yo yo dieting and hating myself i couldn't go down this route anymore and found an amazing book and workshop called Beyond Chocolate - which is just about learning to have a better relationship with food and my body. I found Beyond Chocolate and then burlesque really helped with the liking my body better part
Losing weight was a bit of a side effect of being much happier - def worth checking out not just if you want to lose weight but just if you want try something a bit different
I still have far to go but i'm getting there......

I've started to lose a bit due to the face that my doctor told me I was officially obese! I am 'cheating' slightly though....as well as removing takeaway and general crap from my diet I am also taking prescribed tablets to help me achieve a sensible weight a bit faster.
I wouldn't have minded but I'm only a 16 so I didn't see myself as fat until the doctor started on at me!

Whilst not exactly big, I've put on some weight over the past few months and I'm a little overweight now. So I'm losing a bit of weight- mainy because none of my clothes fit me anymore
I've finally given up Pepsi, it's only been a week so I haven't noticed a difference yet. And I'm doing it the really boring counting calories way.Snowflakes and Sparkles
