For very long winded reasons I don't see most of my family; it is just me and my Dad. He has to spend Christmas with his other family and I'm not invited (my step-Mum doesn't like that he spends any time with me so she refuses to see me). I have been invited to lovely Pixie Parasol's but I have no hopes of finding the money to get there. And, to make matters worse, I have just spent the evening with the "special" friend I was hoping to spend Christmas day with and I decided to say (after several weeks of stressing about it) that I couldn't carry on the way we were and that, after six months of seeing each other - just as "friends" - I wanted to be able to say he was my O.H; he said no. I wish he was a b*****d so I could hate him. Unfortuantely he isn't and that is why I have fallen for him. Sorry, I am being rather pathetic; just feeling miserable right now.
O well, Christmas will be over in a few weeks; there's something to look forward to.
    xx
Oh love, it sucks when you put your heart into something and it's not to be. I really hope things start being sunnier in the new year, you are such a lovely person

I agree so I'm not offended. My Dad is not happy with her at all but he would rather be miserable with her than be alone. I think he's an idiot. He is generally good though; it's just on Christmas/New Year that it's difficult.

Thank you! It has been a horrible day but, as they say, things can only get better. Just such bad timing.

I spent one Christmas away from my family and i wasn't looking forward to it (I was working in London) The pub closed at 3pm and the rest of the managers were going away to their families and i would be the only one on site in the flats and i didn't really know anyone. I got an offer from one of the trainee managers but didn't fancy being lumped in with someone else's family.
but it never happened as my mum and dad came down with out telling me and came into the pub at 2.30 to take me back to my aunts - they had spoke to my manager and agreed for a couple of days off after Christmas so i could get time with my folks
    How sweet?
Christmas dinner was a chinese takeaway - never to be forgotten!

Now, for some reason that reminds me of my mother when she lived in Bexhill-on-Sea!.......................Well, Sidley really BUT, one crimble there was this "down and out" sat out side the Delaware Pavilion begging, (you know the type, new trainers, rolex watch, nice hair, well fed etc?)and he had a wee dog with him all bundled up against the cold and a BIG placard saying how he was homeless and how a wee bit of Christmas Cheer would go well with him, now, my mother is a Salvation Army person ok? So, she looks at this geezer sitting on the pathway outside the Pavilion, walks BACK into the town and comes back with...................................A BIG can of dog food for the wee dog ROFL............................Said begger was furious, said dog was happy! heh, heh, heh.

Sorry, story has got nothing to do with the thread but, it might make one or three of you laugh.
