Well obviously washing machines are all connected by invisible wormholes in space, creating portals between them, and yours happens to be one of the exit portals. In short, items that disappear in other peoples' washing machines travel through space and time and emerge in yours. So if you get a pair of the Doc's gym trousers, let us know and get him to stick his head into his drum and see if he can look out of yours!

I don't know about Narnia, but it was quite funky in there... sort of like being in a spaceship from what I can remember, and from what I assume being inside a spaceship would be like. Wonder how many children that washing machine advert with the clothes as sea creatures has confused? Ah, thats where all the lost socks go - they turn into fish! (Have some honey and lemon, yummy and good for colds
)
