Burlesque Artists
I was wondering if there are any other artists that paint burlesque performers as i never seen any as december charm said in another post "I reckon you could produce some gorgeous watercolours with a burlesque theme."
i am aware Gemma Parker does some.WARNINGWarning: This is an Old Thread

Gemma Parker
Charlotte Thomson whose work is awesome
There was a guy here a while back (think his username was Millarcus) who did watercolours, I think
I have to say that my reaction to your post was the same as December's - I think you should give it a go if you can find the time, the results could be lovely!
I'd like to be a burlesque artist myself - but as anyone who saw my flyer for my event will know, my style is quite minimalist!

I wish I could, but people are one of the worst things for me to paint/draw

You should definitely give it a go! Try going along to a Dr Sketchy's- sounds like it would be right up your street

i did landscapes and a bit of work for a few ppl i wont mention names so afraid portraiture is out my league
i do like the portrait work of Robert Heindel, the great late Robert L Lenkiewicz, Gordon King and Douglas Hoffman, all there work breathe movement into the images.
I go check out Charlotte Thomson work now

I've been thinking of doing something like this...portraits aren't really what I'm into but I like to have a go sometimes just to keep up my technique...the sparklier the better! The last sparkly person I painted was from Velvet Goldmine though:lol:

I used to draw/paint burlesque but then moved on to images of aerial performers instead, I like the shapes their figures create but like doing portraits best.

I'm an (amateur) artist and am starting a life drawing class in June, so I'll get to you then! I would LOVE to draw burly figures so will definitely keep trying to do it.
Speaking of which, there's a hotel in a village near me that I adore staying in because one of the rooms is decorated with erotic drawings and has a lovely big red and leopard-print bed
