Oh wow! Those were always amazing!

Another recommendation for sore throats is very pleasant. Discovered quite by accident, we have found that for very tasty and quite long lasting relief that sucking on ASDA "Jelly Cherries" from the 3 for £1 sweetie selection is much cheaper than all the fancy (and useless) lozenges, and far more fun.

    Me, I've had it

I was REALLY ill a couple of weeks ago, to the point where I was crying in work because I could hardly stand straight...they finally got the hint and it started to get better after curling up in my duvet - now its weaker little sister is back in the form of a hacking cough (there;s nothing to cough up...eeek) and the sniffles like you wouldn't believe...

But then, a bout of pneumonia the other year means that I have the worse immune system when it comes to winter, and every year since I can remember I've been ill over xmas holidays so this year will be no surprise...lol

    Hope everyone feels better soon

    (from a safe distance...lol)

    xx

I've got the lovely D and V kind with more emphasis on the V and less on the D. I swear I never knew it was possible to hurl so much, I'm sure I threw up a boot last night! Hurling myself to the floor of the bathroom isnt helping my cocyx much either!

    Get well soon everyone

well, i did last visit! I had 3 days of english sunshine (not the same as the kind we have here ) with only 1 rainy day. odd, yes?

not sure that you want our sun though... it's so hot that it causes severe tropical thunderstorms - like the one i'm experiencing right now - with my leaky roof...

Aww hun! At least D&V resolves relatively fast in comparison to flu, though if I had to pick I'd prefer flu since when you're ill enough you skip a few days with the fever, whereas you remember every second of the D&V. Take 48 hours off work etc after your symptoms stop cause you can still give it to people during that time, it's a nice excuse for a little extra holiday too.

Aaw Lena I hope you feel better soon. So many people in my class at uni are ill.

In my little group one girl is off today after calling in the energency doctor (I'm not sure what's wrong- she text me to tell me the basics and I didn't want to pry) and he told her to stay in bed. Another girl has glandular fever. Another went home today after being sick all night. And a fourth was perfectly fine and dandy, walked out of the library, suddenly went as pale as anything and promptly threw up. For no apparant reason

So I'm living in fear of getting ill myself :worried:

aw.... you poor darlings. you're all stuck up in the cold! meanwhile, down in Aus, we've got 30C+ degree heat and monsoonal rain, hailstorms and cyclonic wind removing the odd roof here and there and everything is sweaty and sticky and sunburnt...
i'm gonna miss the summer. perhaps next year i'll have a winter christmas, but this year, christmas still means swimming pools and seafood!

Yeah you do lose weight quickly but it comes back very fast! When I was about 14 I had flu that was so bad I lost 3 days, I wasn't aware of them occuring. But after I recovered I was thinner (went back to normal fast though) and also so run down my spots cleared up completely, my body couldn't waste the energy producing them. It's not happened since, which is a pity as I liked that side effect.
