Ouchy and ??? ***Medical Description***
Ok, so this is a bit weird but the other day I had a tickle on my cheek and I scratched it and managed to scratch my face (although I don't know what had been there in the first place).
Now, I have a really sore bit on that part of my cheek, kind of scabbing over and looks like I have a patch of cheek where I've managed to remove a few layers of skin.
It's really quite stingy, but not itchy at all.
Anyone know what it might be? Is it ok to put make-up on it to cover it? (as, typically, I'm going out tonight)
I know it sounds silly, but I'm a bit worried about it...hmmm...

Couldn't say for certain but it'd probably be a nerve tingling which you scratch harder than you thought (perhaps as it was a little numb, hence the tingling) and scratched your face?
If it's an 'open wound' (haha, i can't think of a less severe way of saying that right now!) then I'd keep it clean and not bother with putting makeup on it, though chances are that makeup (depending on how much you'd put on) won't do much to affect it
Just make sure you keep it clean and keep an eye on it

If you're worried, go see your doctor. It sounds obvious, but you often don't think to do it when it's something as mundane as a scratch. But someone who can see it first hand will be able to advise better

This won't be what you are hoping to hear, and I will probably sound more like your Mum, but although it's a bollocking, it's a gentle bollocking because I love you. xx
You may have unwittingly infected the area that is now scabbing over. Try rubbing savlon into it, making sure that your fingers and nails are scrupulously clean first. Savlon is an antiseptic but if fails to make an impression, you should do what your Mum would have told you to do in the first place, see your doctor. If it is infected, you will need a course of antibiotics.
As for hiding it with foundation, bad mistake. But you won't heed me, so if you must go out, put a large sticky plaster over it and make a joke of it with your friends.
Bet you don't do it. xx

Oooooh, don't put make-up or anything on it, you could spread it and it might develop into impetigo. Be careful sweetie. Go to the doctors asap to get it checked.

If it's stingy and not itchy you probably have just exposed a deeper layer of skin than normal which means that the nerves under this deeper layer are a lot closer to the skin's surface than they like and are letting you know about it!
If I were you I'd skip the makeup and make sure that you keep it clean and put some antiseptic cream on it, together with a plaster to make sure nasties can't get into it, until it clears up.
I really would steer clear of putting make up over it too sweetie - make-up is not sterile (particularly old make up) and you really do not want to add possibly nasty bacteria into the area until the skin has had a chance to heal up properly.
Also - if it gets worse, or hasn't got markedly better in a week or so, you might want to go to the doctor to make sure everything's OK. :worried:
Best of luck sweetie - hope the night out goes well in spite of the lack of make up!

Thank you everyone for the advice (and to be honest, it's what I expected to hear)
It's all Savlon'd up with cleaner than clean hands and no make-up near it so fingers crossed it'll clear up soon
How in earth I managed to do it, I'll never know
Fank yoo all muchos for the advice, and I'll definately go see a doctor if it gets any worse
xx
