I saved my precious corset!!!
well, after an eventful trip to the Antartic on HMS Endurance, we were on our way to spend xmas and new year in an undiscolsed South American country.... until (whilst i was on watch in the engine room no less) we had an... incident. which brought on 940 tonnes of water in 43 mintues. Needless to say scenes from Titanic flashed accross my mind and it wasn't of Kate Winslet's wardrobe!
whilst battling the incessant water in freezing cold temperatures i did think of my precious corset in my Civvie locker and hoped i would be able to save it from the rising flood water. Although, when i got trapped... :help: i didn't think i'd ever get to wear a corset again... but the thought of dying in a set of overalls, well, it just wouldn't do!
42 hours later, i made it to said locker and saved ALL of my clothes. unfortunetly i lost just about everything else, but we saved the ship. i'm just very dissappointed that no-one back in britian heard anythng of our heroic efforts to save one of our countries finest ships.
so after having the WORST christmas ever and a pretty poo new year, i'm ready to fight back and bring a new me into the new year!!!!

Blimey! That must have been so scary! Especially considering you got trapped.
Good to hear your safe though, Shame no-one reported on it back in the UK though.

Wow, v. Scary! Pleased to hear you're okay but you're right, It's far more important news than some of the twaddle we have to .. ahem ... endure. Still, as the ship and people are safe - there's an act in there somewhere!! xxx

I'm glad you're safe, it's a real shame there was no news coverage. The media are very silly.
