Hula hoop advice needed
Hello all hope you all had a loverly christmas. I'm just popping by to see if there is anyone on here who can give me advice about hooping with two hoops. On a bit of a downer I ran for a train and half way across London t obuy a travel hoop just before the shop was shutting.
Anyways what I don't get is how to seperate teh hoops when you are spinning them around your waist. I can spin both around my waist and sometimes one is on my hips and the other on my chest but I don't know how it happened.
And how do you pick up a hoop off the floor when already spinning one? I've seen people kind of flick it with their feet but this seems impossible to me.
Have looked on some hoop sites but can't really find an answer
thanks

argh without actually standing next to you, i can't really explain it
picking up a hoop involves a flexed ankle, momentum and scratching your foot to buggery whilst learning it this is the best video i can find :
YouTube - Hula Hoop tricks - Pick up from the floor
to hoop with two, well it is just practice (i know i know...) and eventually it will click, remember to seperate your ribcage from your core muscles and use it to bounce the hoop up... you won't get far with two if you can't already move a hoop up from your waist to shoulders to neck... if you can then you keep one hoop on the hips and another bumped up to the ribcage & chest, you can do this is sync or split time
i can't find a video for this sorry

I did some hula-hooping classes at my gym last year (Virgin Active) and REALLY enjoyed it, great workout too - never ached sooooo much. Incorporating hula-hoops into burlesque sounds like a great idea, just wish I was competant enough at it to give it a try.
Sadly I can offer no practical advice on this question except to suggest that maybe you check out who in your local area offers hula-hoop fitness classes and try to get a private lesson with them. All the hula-hoop instructors at my gym are AMAZING at it and can do all sorts of impressive stuff. Worth a try!!!

Ah thankyou! I tried ankle hooping in a class once so I nearly have the kick up thing just need to actually keep it spinning when i catch it with my hip. Had the biggest bruises went I first tried it.
Think the 2 hoop spinning just needs lots of practise, they both go up to my chest it's a fluke if I can seperate them. I've been on the grass near the London eye all afternoon practising in the freezing cold- great way to keep warm!

my hoop also lived in my car for a few months much to the chagrin of anyone i was giving a lift to
hope you get the hang of it love x

There were no strange looks by the eye- it was so cold only me a friend and a busker with an accordion were braving the weather!
I've only had a few classes most of what I've learnt has come from youtube! Theres plenty of classes in London but most are quite a trek from my area.
I've just found a juggling club about 2 minutes from my house which do spinning and fire! I've been hunting for cirus folk for two year and they were right under my nose on the other side of the train tracks!
