Poor thing, are you in a union? if not I strongly recommed you join one.

I'm joining one now (UNISON) but when I called them up they said they couldn't help with anything that had already happened and you don't get the benefits of joining a union until you have been a member of it for a month.
I guess they wouldn't be able to sack me as easily if I joined though, and my ability to pay the fees depends on me actually getting paid SOMETHING as they deduct it off your wages.

I understand about having to be a member for a month, but still it's not a bad idea to join. Your going to go back to work?

Yes, I will join. I would go back if I got redeployed to a different department or hospital, but I couldn't face going back to my current job with the same nasty people, and my doctor and therapist have advised me not to for my own health. I actually have nightmares about going back every night however sad that sounds.
The doctor would ideally like me to quit on the spot but it's just not practical for money issues. I wish doctors would understand that it's unwise to quit a job with none to go to! In the meantime I am continuing the job search... Also, in my job you can't go back to work unless the doctor writes a letter signing you back on and saying you are fit to do so. I didn't know this when I tried to go back the first time round and got sent straight home.

oh honey it's not sad at all,
what can I tell you? hang on in there, read through your contract, look into all the HR policies etc. have a look to see if your credit card repayments have any type of insurance cover, and don't worry, i know it's alot easier said than done but something will come up!

Ahh the other thing. I never received a contract or anything to take away with me with terms of employment. :S I signed a Joining Form and some other thing saying I wouldn't use the internet to look up porn but never even received an employee handbook, I don't think they had any! I never would have known anything about the sick pay rules were it not for the fact I looked it up on the NHS website myself. According to those my boss is supposed to tell me a month in advance when I am approaching a half- or nil-pay situation. And did she? No! Occupational health didn't want to know all this though, they say these are more management issues. Still, they do impact on me stress/health-wise!
