Any cute cafés in London?
Hi All,
I've got a friend coming down to London on either Thursday or Friday and I wanted to take her to a cute café around central London.
Does anyone have any reccomendations?

I'd recommend Paul's near Covent Garden, or Cafe Rendezvous in Leicester Square. Both are excellent especially for cake!

slinky sparkles was extolling the virtues of a cupcake place near portobello road; i'm not sure what it's called but she's a member here so i'm sure she can tell you

Take her to Soho where the Italian cafes are!
Bar Italia, Frith St (off Soho Sq, I think).
Bar Italia - Soho • London- Since 1949
the Amalfi, Old Compton St.
Amalfi London - Italian Restaurant Review, Online Booking and Information
Patisserie Valerie, Old Compton St.
Patisserie Valerie | birthday cakes | wedding cakes | christmas cakes | gateaux | Soho, Kensington, Marylebone High Street, Spitalfields, Piccadilly, Bromley, Marble Arch, Queensway - home page
There's also this amazing website to whet your appetite!
Classic Cafes | London's vintage Formica caffs!
The New Piccadilly shut down, which is an utter tragedy. It was a beautiful place! I could just imagine it full of 1950s renters, all louche with greasy hair and cappuccinos.

It's really nice and the cakes are delicious! It'll probably take half an hour to choose one!

It'll be worth it! I love the Bromley one but don't bother having lunch first!!! They do cakes to order for special occasions too and the prices aren't bad considering the quality.
