    Default My New Start!

So! I just dropped out of my Honours year and can't remember the last time I did something so positive with my life! I've realised just how much I've been living my life for other people, and decided that just isn't on anymore, SO! I have just written up what I want to achieve this year! :twothumbs:

Does anyone else make lists like this? or am I just punch drunk with a new lease of life?!

Here are the fruits of my labour!!

    My Aims for 2009!

    1. Pay off my debt by working lots!
    2. Only spend time with people I really want to spend time with!
    3. Stop guilt tripping myself – put my own happiness first as much as possible.
    4. Try the things I’ve always wanted to do – like Rock Climbing!
    5. Sing more
    6. Help out at as many burlesque events as possible!
    7. Get performing and performance sorted! Do a debut (at least!) and get a portfolio started
    8. If debt is sorted, start saving to buy my first place.
    9. Believe more in myself!
    10. Stick to slimming world and fit into a size 12 perfectly so I can get my nice new business suit from Slaters!
    11. Learn to drive.

it seems like a lot, but my driving lessons were an overdue reward for my school exams (so much more useful than the money my classmates got! ), and my mum has been going on at me to cash them in so who am I to refuse! lol! and the business suit is a 21st birthday present so it won't intefere with debt repayment!!

Anyone else got plans/intentions for the year?

    Azure
    xx

Just like you I want to be more involved with burlesque shows and eventually perform myself. I still have to make my performing debut and I keep saying I'll do it after I lose weight etc etc.

I'd like to get on my HND Fine Art course which I have applied for. And hopefully get a new job so I can afford to save up to pay the fees by the time it starts in the autumn. £1200 I think per year, and I am currently only on sick pay!

    I suppose I could try slimming down to a size 12 too, I'm a 14 just now.

I too should try to learn to drive again but I can't afford it just now and I'm scared since my last disaster trying to take lessons!

50 Book Challenge too - read 50 books in a year. I managed it last year, so I'm doing it again!

Well done you! Congratulations on doing what you need to do :twothumbs:

I have big plans for this year. I think this is going to be my biggest year yet.

    1. Get a job over summer. To save for:
    2. Find a lovely little house that Mr C and I can live in
    3. Get a part time job in my next year of uni.
    4. Perhaps learn to drive towards the end of the year.

Something else too. But I'm not saying it yet until it's all...confirmed, is the best word I guess.

Oh and I forgot, I'm also trying to slim down to the size 12 I was at the beginning of summer. Before I sat around on here for 4 months eating rubbish and going up to a 16. It wouldn't bother me so much if my clothes still fit

    For this year:

    1. Get house
    2. Get job!
    3. Upgrade my rather rattly old car.
    4. Travel more,
    5. Go out and do more social stuff rather than spending all my time online ops:

Thanks december Let me know what the other thing is that needs confirmation, I'm burning with curiosity now!! and good luck wiht the house! my dad keeps telling me that this is the perfect time to buy if you can even though money is tight, and he's never made a loss on a house yet! (my dad's my financial advisor on things like this, I dunno what I'd do without him sometimes!!). Whereabouts do you think you'd like to be located? country, town or city?

Bride: The 50 books sounds amazing! I love reading, I just never seem to have had the time to sit down of an evening and immerse myself. Maybe read more should be there too! although....what happened last time you learned to drive?!?! let me know how the fine art course pans out! what would that involve? is it a practical course or more appreciation and identification? I hope you're fit and well soon! xx

EDN - it's just this site that keeps me on the computer hehe. Pixie is right, it's deliciously addictive!!! It's terrible, I live right on the edge of the highlands, I can SEE mountains and hills from my seat at the computer next to the window, and yet I take no advantage of them lol. I blame midges. and a dislike of getting sweaty....where would you like to travel if money was no object?

I'm going to my grans in a couple of hours and she's going to teach me how to do my hair like she had hers in the War, I'm really looking forward to it! I never do anything with my hair but throw it up in a twist or a plait, nice simple things, so time to learn how to look like I've made a bit of an effort!!! :excited:

Haha nope, I'm keeping it a secret. I'm not exactly sure when I will be able to tell you but at a rough guess about 3-4 months.

We're not buying yet. We're going to look for a really nice house to rent together whilst we save money to eventually buy one in six years or so (I have it all planned out!) I want to stay in the area I live now, so Surrey/Hampshire town. I found the most gorgeous, perfectly sized and located house yesterday but, although it is a fantastic price, we can't afford it for 3 months yet. It becomes available in March so I'm crossing my fingers that no one wants it before May.

Grandma's are the most valuable source of information! I try asking mine things but she is just like me and gets distracted easily so I never find out what I want to

My hair depressed me so much this morning. It's so long, thick and curly I actually can't do anything with it! I was watching Youtube tutorials and getting really frustrated that I will never be able to create these gorgeous hairstyles. I'm going to give one of them a try tomorrow with my straighteners though.

hehehe that's what I meant, when you are ready to reveal!! sorry, bad wording!

see, my hair hates to sit in curls. absolutely hates it, so I have to battle with it if I want it to look anything more than frizzy waves

Surrey is lovely! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!!!

good luck with your new ventures azure this year i hope to do the following:

    1) pass my hnc and get all my credits so i can go do my hnd
    2) try my best to get a job working with computers over the summer - i'm even prepared to work for free just so i can get the experience!
    3) go to as many burlesque shows as possible and meet lots of lovely new folk in the process
    4) renew my gym membership and blitz my lard arse
    5) read more books and less trashy magazines
    6) learn how to style my hair because, as much as i like my hairdresser (he loves burlesque and vintage yay!) i can't really afford to go everytime i go out!
    7) try to go to another class, i wanted to go to viva's but i just don't have the time right now i think i would do this more for fun rather than to try and get performances cos being honest i think i'd be crap lol!
