    Default Lemo Detox Diet

    Hey y'all

Has anyone ever tried the Lemon Detox Diet? The one where you buy this syrup stuff and mix it with water and cayenne pepper and go without food for a few days. There is a dot com for it, very sales-y.

My boyfriend thinks it's a waste of time and that he'll make delicious food the whole time to try to tempt me (he's a very good cook!).

    Any thoughts?

Pretty much anything labelled "detox" is a waste of time and any positive benefits you see will be placebo. If you want a nod to detox and still yumminess I found some detox tea from "pukka herbs" which while I don't believe it detoxes at all at least tastes lovely!

Cornflakes for breakfast or porridge, cornflakes for lunch or a "cornflake bar" thing, decent 1500 calorie main meal at night and as much WATER as you can hold for a week.

These diet and detox things are all well and good but, if the body is taking in 2,500 cals a day and only burning 700 to a thousand..............Dont take a rocket scientist to figure out where all the extra cals are going!

I'll have to look for that. I do already drink a pot of herbal tea a day and loads of water. I still somehow get a little acne. Ah, i'll do some more research on what people online think.

It's a pile of rubbish. The fact is, when you deny your body food, it tries to conserve fat. It's basically a case of eat less and do more.

Have a 390 calorie breakfast, like some granola and yogurt.
A 390 calorie lunch, like a tuna and light mayo pitta bread with salad and fruit.
A 390 calorie dinner, like rice or pasta (just a little portion! no more than 100g!!) with baked or grilled chicken or fish. Or even just a simple spag bol or chilli.
A 130 calorie snack, like some peppers and carrots with humous, or a handfull of air popped pop-corn.
Eat as much veg as you can/want!

    That's what I've been doing!

I've also started going to the gym, 40 mins 3 times a week.

That's how they make Coca Cola in pub, just minus the pepper.
I witnessed it for the first time today and I must admit it put me off!

Hun, my best advice for the "detox" thing is steer clear!
Eating no food is no good for your body, you need food for energy!!

Im sorry but please do not do this!! drinking over 2.5 lites a day unless in a hot environment is very dangerous. Excess water dilutes the bodys salt levels and can result in heart attacks, fainting and brain trauma...
    as for detoxs.....

your body does that for you...just steer clear of alcohol, salty foods, and fats for a few days and your liver will right your body for you!
