Tattoos!
So, I can see from quite a few handful of profile pictures that I am far from alone in my love of body art
Although I'm a veritable newbie when it comes to tattoos myself (I only have one, although I'm planning to get my next fairly soon!)
My first tattoo was one that I designed for myself and got a tattoo done as an 18th birthday present for myself (so, a few years back). Although I love the tattoo itself (it's simple, elegant black linework of a set of swirly wings on my upper back), the tattooist was not brilliant, and I've started to become a bit disappointed with the quality of the inking - it's not drastically terrible, but the lines a little uneven (thickness). So, those of you who sport tattoos - what sort of reworking or touching up could be done? And could anyone recommend a London based artist to do it for me? The original tattoo cost £75 to do - what sort of price am I looking at to get it touched up?WARNINGWarning: This is an Old Thread

There are alot of reputable studios, the best bet is to research!
Do you want them re-lined, shaded, coloured? Think about it and go into a studio with these answers in your head.
Most studios charge about £80 an hour, but that shouldn't put you off, the results are better if you pay more.
Diamond Jack's in Soho is good, varied range of artists and good value for money.
Into-you in Camden is one of the best in london,
Damien at London Tattoo is excellent with colour!
Ask to see photos of all the artist's work too.

I would suggest visiting reputable tattoo studios such as Mo Copeletta's Family Business, Frith Street Tattoo, Into U, Blood Brothers, plus the studios mentioned by Missy Macabre and asking for advice from the staff there.
They will be able to tell you what they can and can't do.
This may sound harsh, but do bare in mind that, in effect, you are asking a talented artist to fix a not-so-talented artist's mistakes. Some will be very happy that you came to realise that you didn't go to the best (wo)man for the job the first time around, others will be irritated that they can't have full creative control on the tattoo and are fixing someone else's mistake. Just a head's up because sometimes the latter attitude can come as a bit of a surprise to an unsuspecting customer!
All the best!! x

Thanks for the advice guys
I thought to look at the work of artists before getting any more work done. Hopefully I'll be able to find a kindly artist who can set things to rights, and hopefully help me with my next venture.
Hah - yes, I can see how that would irritate. Thanks for the heads up
