Could you indulge me please?
Today I did my first ever "landscape" shoot. I have uploaded them to my Flickr site. Could you please take a look and make comment, especially all you other togs out there. I think I have done quite good with the snow and all on a few of them.
Thanks guys.

I think they look great. I'm no expert in landscapes though so I can't really offer much feedback. The only thing I did notice is in the fourth photo down (P3060668) it might have worked better if you'd included slightly less of the hedge at the bottom, because it's out of focus it is a little distracting from the rest of the photo. But that might just be me.

Heyy MoM

I really like your landscape photos, its not easy taking really nice ones, especially when they weathers reasonably dull.
My favourite by far is the sky and fields one, the detail in the sky is gorgeous.
The only one I'm not so keen on is the one with the handglider in it, I think it would look a billion times better with the hand glider removed.
It just seems too small to do anything.. if thats makes any sense? haha

Hi
After having a look through the images here are my thoughts:
Image 1
Nice sky
Not much on the horizon therefore water could be a darker blue
Nice composition
Image 2
The hanglider is slightly off putting, I personally would clone it out
Try the image in B&W with a tighter crop on the sky line
Nice diagonal lines
Image 3
Nice image
Lovely lines
I would shave a little off the top
Image 4
I actually like the fence in the foreground, shows a nice depth of field with the focus being on the house
The only thing slightly off putting for me is the curve in the fields on the 2/3 mark
All others are great.
Its nice to see that you have the correct white balance, not giving off a blue tone to the snow but showing a pure white#
My favorite is P3060660 - purely for the simplicity.

Hi Deb. Thanks for your input. The one with the sliver of sea and the hang glider? That was taken at full telephoto. So, the sea is actually about maybe 5 miles away. The shooting area is a wee layby on a B class road and there is only about three safe areas to shoot from!! I did look at the sea but reckoned it would look silly if I "blued" it up a bit, still, the hang glider IS coming out today! Oh, the sea in the pic is the horizon as I was about 150 metres above sea lever type thing with cliffs at the edge of the frame.
I didn't really want to image Corfe Castle as I promised myself I wouldn't coz of the millions of images out there already of it but, it looked nice to me!
All in all I am very pleased with the results, having never physically gone out to do landscape work I was a bit aprehensif of the results. I will also remember to take a coat with me the next time though!! After 2 hours of horsey pics then stood standing in the cold wind on the "hill top"....BRRRRRRRR, bloody freezing I was.
