Irritation!
Just needed a rant peoples ...
I went out tonight for a bit of socialising with the Midlands posse ... before I left I put in a bid on eBay. I clicked the 'Confirm Bid' button and then left the computer. The OH then closed the computer down. I went to say, leave it on so I can check that bid went through OK, but I decided I was being paranoid and that if I had confirmed, as I had, it would be OK.
So imagine my confusion (and anger) when I get home and check my eBay to see that my bid has not been registered, and my item was sold at the price it had been at all day! I'm very very irritated by this, don't understand how it happened, and don't understand how or why the OH didn't notice when he closed down the computer. More than anything else though, I'm extremely angry that I didn't trust that little niggling instinct that tried to tell me to go back and check!WARNINGWarning: This is an Old Thread

At least you listen to them - it could save you from a fire one day, that could
I'm trying not to, otherwise I won't sleep. It's the second time I've missed out on the same thing, due to mistakes!
EDIT: The plot thickens! I just checked my e-mail and it seems my bid DID go through and I was outbid (by a measly pound) but eBay just decided to completely remove the listing from my watched list. So the item in my watched list must have been a different one that I hadn't even tried to bid on, or something, which got me all confused. But in My eBay, there wasn't a single clue I had even bid on anything, nothing in the 'Not Won' section, nothing. What in the heck is going on?

I'm terrible with them, the number of times I have pelted back to my house after getting half way to work having not been able to shake the "did I/didn't I lock to front door" niggle only to find that, of course I did! :wallbash:
ops:
I don't care what anyone says, the internet is sentient and in the pay of Loki!
