Default Pah! So much for getting out more...

    Minor rant.

So, I was doing belly dancing classes. Quite enjoyed it actually, and have prerequisite equipment. But unfortunately the time they were held got in the way, and after a while I never got home in time. And also the room was a bit like a goldfish bowl anyway, I really don't like being watched, and really didn't like it one day when someone gave me the 'once up and down' as I walked through the door. **** that. I don't need to put myself in that position. I like dancing, it's escapism. I don't like being in a position where people feel they have the right point and laugh and/or judge.

Anyway, couldn't make those classes anymore anyway owing to the time they were held, so went to salsa on mondays instead, it started over an hour later. Wicked. I was actually OK it. Unfortunately over the past few months work has been a PITA again, and I stopped going, as by the time I got home I was too tired and downtrodden to go out again. But things have improved, and I hope to resume. Fine. Try to find another set of belly dancing classes on another night, but they're all a bit difficult owing to time/location.

So, now there's a MoB-approved set of burlesque classes in Wolverhampton, Yey! I thought. But on closer inspection they would be a PITA to get to after work from the officeespecially as they're in the suburbs, but possibly doable over the summer. Appear to be a 7pm. Also awkward. But everything's on a flippin' MONDAY!. GRRRRRRRR! AND EARLY! NNNNGGGGGH! I barely get home for 7, sometimes....

So, try and find classes closer to the office, instead. The nearby dance studio's website is contradictory so I've had to email them, and as for the next-nearest-leisure-centre-to-the-office, their website's broken. Gaaah!

The blessed government are regularly telling me I'm a danger to myself, other people and the NHS and I should move more, and dear god, I'm trying. And I like dancing in it's many, varied and assorted forms. But why is nothing simple? This is enough to make you reach for the sofa with the mini jaffa cakes.

Sorry peeps, that was it. Feels like a wasted evening, when I was feeling so motivated, too.

I know how you feel, trying to find places that do appropriate dance lessons for me at times I can make it is so difficult! I've just found a place that do adult ballet but there's no specification of the level of the class. I don't want to just turn up and find everyone is really advanced! Plus you need to put a certain investment in with ballet as at the very least I'd need to buy some ballet shoes. I think I'll have to ring up and ask, but I really hate talking on the phone to strangers.

I'd love to do more belly dancing (I've had a few lessons before) but the only lessons I can find are at such an awful time (1pm!!!) that it just doesn't seem possible.
