How else are you creative?
Besides burlesque, what other sorts of creative things do you do?
I've been performing improv for a few months, mainly shortform (think Whose Line Is It Anyway) but I just did my first longform last week - scary but fun!! I see it more of a hobby rather than an all-encompassing passion, but it's great fun and lets me practice my stage presence.
I'm also training as a circus artsworker, developing my skills so that I can help train others and work on community projects. We mainly do floorwork - tumbling, acrobalance, some juggling and hoopings, and had a go at aerialsn and stilts. I'm stillnot perfect but I'm a lot better then before.
How about you?WARNINGWarning: This is an Old Thread

I'm specialising in Art on my course (though I'm not actually that great at it technically- I have the ideas but can't translate that to a finished product). My specialism within art is Graphic Design.
I also used to love descriptive writing- In my English Language GCSE papers, the last question was always a choice of a) explain blah blah blah, b) persuade blah blah blah or c) describr blah blah blah. I would never even look at the other questions- just go straight to the description. I was really good at it as well, I could write for ages without even thinking but I haven't done any for four years now so I don't know how good I am these days.
I danced Latin American and Freestyle for 9 years and I'm starting again very soon.Snowflakes and Sparkles

Used to think I was very creative, but now i'm not so sure,
Seems like i've lost the spark, and I know it's not just about waiting for an idea it's working with it to see where it goes just don't seem to be able to get it together.

Been dancing since I was 2 in various forms (ballet, ballroom, Latin, jazz, contemporary, etc.). Been acting since I was 4 in various amateur productions. Haven't done either properly since I left uni, so I took up burlesque originally as a way to be able to do both around my full time working schedule.
Made and customised my own clothes and accessories for years and years - really helpful now I make or embellish costumes.
Been drawing since I could hold a pencil and making other pieces of art since I could hold a pair of scissors. Again, this has come in really handy for making props. I also paint abstracts in watercolours and acrylics when the fancy takes me.
Played the recorder (as did all children) in primary school and the violin from age 10 to age 15 (although my fingers were too long to play it comfortably and my teacher recommended I move up to cello or evewn double bass >_<). I've recently re-found and rebridged my violin and bought a ukelele to get back into making music. I always had very good pitch and enjoyed working out how to play songs I enjoyed on the violin or the recorder, so I hope to be able to do that again.
I've been writing stories since primary school and still do that when I find the free time.

i've always enjoyed drawing and was quite good until I was about twelve. My development stopped there, unfortunately!
I've been making props and as part of my job for seven years so I can make pretty much anything out of anything.
I enjoy working with fabrics and making the odd bit of tat and I used to be a singer though very out of practice, now.
Oh, and apparently I have a flair for interior design!

I write short stories and poems. My cats are very appreciative of the toys and puzzle feeders I make for them!

That's my problem with visual art too - great ideas, mediocre execution :P
OMG! I used to be totally passionate about writing. Everyone who knew me thought of me as the Writer, the kid who'll publish a book someday. Then I got to uni to do creative writing and the passion died. Turns out I hate having my writing graded - I write as therapy and I don't need to be told my characters are unrealistic when they're based on me!

I'm an illustrator, by trade.
I write sometimes though, and I'm really fond of music
I sing a lot and I'm learning guitar which I love! xx
