Bad service affect?
Yesterday I had to take my MacBook to the Apple store where I've had nothing but praise for the people working there before. However yesterday the person who was meant to be helping me was so condescending and dismissive I left in a really foul mood. It was actually such bad treatment that I now won't be able to heap the praise I normally do on the customer service in Apple.
I'm fully aware that he might have been having a bad day/week or year but it got me wondering - has anyone else ever had such bad service that it's affected how they feel about a brand/store?WARNINGWarning: This is an Old Thread

I actually stopped donating to a charity because of bad service.
One evening when I was out some bloke kept ringing up and my boyfriend, assuming it was a spam-caller, kept putting the phone down on him (the first time, he asked if I was there and my boyfriend said no, so 10 minutes later the man rang again, and my boyfriend just put the phone down), and eventually the unplugged the phone. When we next checked the answerphone, we found this message:
"This is the RNIB, you put the phone down on me 3 times, I think
you're arrogant and rude. You didn't even have the deceny or good
manners to listen to what I was saying, I was after Miss xxxxxx
because she has supported the blind before but you're just an
ignorant person with no manners and no upbringing."
Charming.
I emailed the charity (a charity who I supported for personal reasons and who I'd also done voluntary work for - presumably Mr Cold Caller was being paid?) and made my complaint (there's actually a section on their site where they say you can contact them about the behaviour of their fundraisers...) and never heard anything back. About 3 weeks after I sent my complaint, I rang up and asked what was happening, and they said "we've received your email and we'll get back to you." And that was that.
I mean, I'm sure the charity does good things, but I'm not going to go to the effort of donating money to them if I get someone leaving abuse on my answerphone. Nowadays I sponsor a furry friend with the Dogs' Trust. He's yet to phone up and bark at me, so things are going ok.

I don't visit one of the pubs in my home town any more because of the rudeness of one of their staff. I was tempted to make a fuss and complain, but it's not worth the effort.

I think in todays society every company should be looking at their customer service. If you have a good experience you may tell one or two people, if you have had bad service you will tell everyone you meet, and with all the modern technology a bad reputation can spread so quickly. I always try to make sure now if i have good customer service i tell everyone to show the bad ones up even more.

PC World,
I could come up with a list of things the PC stands for and none of them have anything to do with computers, not very political correct either.
I was after a laptop about 4 or 5 years ago and really wanted a MAC, we went to PC World picked one out, went to buy it, and very politely told the salesman that I wasn't interested in any sort of extend warrenty/extra cover etc. (had one before and it was a load of shite)
I think the guy saw this as a personel challenge and he spent the next 10 mins useing every trick in the book to get me to get the cover. He ended up going on about how unrealiable MACs are etc and trying to bamboozal me with techno speak. I very nicely asked why they stocked a product if it was as shite as he made out, then walked out of the shop with him still trying to sell the cover thing to my husband. Who had been siting there through out the exchange with a knowing smile on his face. (he has seen me walk out of ASDA leaving a half full trolley when they keeping changeing the layout )
I'm sure they do have some very good staff but every time we go they must be on a break.
Also my local CO-OP, they change all the signs for the special offers before they are due to start, I have never seen the three tills open at the same time sometimes they aren't even staffed at all.
Oh I could go on and on and on. Had one of those days and just want to vent, Online Banking 24/7 I think not, then having to pay a credit card twice,Trying to submitt traveling expenses on oracle and helpdesks that blatantly ain't. That's better.
