Default I just passed my CBT!!!!!

Hurrah! Ive finally got some wheels, and dont need to scab lifts all the time anymore! Now Ive just got to wait for the flippin DVLA to send me forms register my baby.
Shes SOOOOOOOOO pretty! a vintage style scooter in red and cream- I dont care about the chicken chaser jokes, its better than the bus!!
Anyone got any safety tips for a nervous biker? (with a fresh tattoo on arm that I reeeely dont want to sand off on the road!)

    Well done

My boyfriend loves his motorbikes and has been trying to convince me to go for my CBT but for now im happy being a passanger lol

Just be vigilant, some people have no respect for bikes and scooters and think they have more right

    and the tattoo looks lush

Cooerr missus!! Well donded. Having any kind of wheels is brill as any decent biker will tell you. The night I passed mine, about 15 years ago or something, my speedo on the bike broke and here is me, on a beatup shit heap of an MZ hoping I wasn't going over the bloody speed limit incase I got nicked and got points before even getting my license!!! Has anyone ever crawled home, in full leathers, on a smoking shit heap of an MZ, at around 20mph just incase?

    *hugs* thankyou!
lol at master- Have had major trouble positioning myself on roundabouts so far so I'll take your advice!
You should definately do your CBT november! Its so much more fun (and less stress) than driving a car- if you do a scoot you dont even have to learn gears! just accelerate, accelerate, accelerate! But youre right, being a passenger is good too! You can provide the eye candy!

Just one question. Unless you plan to do a bit of Barbara Winsor, Carry on Camping packing, how are you going to find all your customes into the bike box?

I took my CBT to allow me to ride my 1962 vintage vespa sportique... a gorgeous little lady, blue and cream......

My advice, watch out for people around you.... you certainly become very road aware when on 2 wheels...

Invest in the best helmet you can afford....and take no sh&t off the big burley bikers.

    Enjoy!!!!

That's awesome! I always wanted a vintage Vespa, but again I am weary of driving myself. I ride on the back of my husbands bike all the time, I love it!

    Well done!

Try to blag a copy of "A Street, A Track, An Open Road" from a local bike dealer, if they won't give you one, it only costs a couple of quid and has very good advice in it regardless if it's "Only" a scooter.

For roundabouts and ALL other bends - Look where you want to go and not at the ground. From here the bike will follow.

Other than that, try to relax and enjoy learning.

    Yay:excited:
