I am not going to disagree with you Pixie, I was only stating fact and, infact, several of my young ladies were dating much older men at 16 and 17 as they reckoned, "the older guy was a much better bet than than some young arsehole with his brain in his bell end" to quote a Flight Sargeant! And one does not get to that level of promotion by being young, silly, frivolous and thick and stupid. So, there must have been something in it for so many of that age group to agree. Anyway, it is of no concern anymore, they all moved on, some are in Iraq, some are in Afghanistan.

Its a difficult issue i think age gaps - when i was 15 i was asked out by a 19 year old and my all but locked me up up, my boyfriend now is 6 years older than me and it doesnt seem that much (i was 19 when we met). My friend who is 27 has just moved in with her 19 year old boyfriend so i agree it does depend on the person and the situation.
An as for 'dirty old men' i used to have two bosses in there 50s and one in his 30s the older ones were always complementing us and being true gentlemen, nothing more than a comment about how we looked or had a pretty smile and we were flattered, the one in his 30s was awful, he couldnt get his eyes above breasts when talking to you he thought it was his right to grab your bum or slide past you as close as possible - its attitude and behaviour more than age that is an issue

It's funny really when you think about age gaps .....
If you think of an 18 year old girl going out with a 38 year old man the gap seems massive
If you think of a 38 year old man going out with a 58 year old woman the gap seems so much smaller and tolerable

As to age gaps I think it varies from relationship to relationship. I’m 18 just and have friends who got with their partners at 16 and have been together form 2-4years and the smallest age gap is 9years and they have been treated a hell of a lot better than the majority of my friends and myself included who go for similar aged boys/girls. How ever I did have a few friends in school that were going out with 30 something’s when they where aged 13 that I found then and still now disgraceful. I get on with a lot of my parents friends who are in there early 40’s and go out on the town with them and have some things in common with them so I can se how people with big age gaps can connect. I now tend to go for mid 20’s ish because as I have found BOYS *not men* my age either don’t or worse still wont admit they like fuller figures and slightly older men are more appreciative.
On the subject of DOM as long as you stay as you are you will never become one. An example of one is a guy I had an encounter with on a bus the other day, I sat in the back and this old man*early 70s* got on and trapped me in the back as we were going through a really rural area he lent into me grabbed me and muttered in a low creepy tone “you have nice breasts”. I swiftly hit him and yelled, he ran off the bus what little people on the bus and the driver look at me confused and then ignored me!! That is a dirty old man!!!!

I must be so naive ( the only way I can remember to spell that is that it's Evian backwards... ) because I had no idea that people actually said or did things like this! I ain't doubting the validity of the stories here, I'm just genuinely shocked that ANYONE would behave like that!
Some world we live in these days.
