Thread: So Frustrated!

A month ago Mr C and I went on a house-viewing. We only saw one house but fell completely in love with it and immediately paid the holding fee.

They had to do credit checks which the woman said take 2-3 days. They use an independent checking company who call your employer to confirm you can pay the rent.

That was a month ago. And we've got nowhere. The letting agency are being fantastic, but the checking company are horrific!

First, they declined us because they ignored a part of the form.
Then, they called the wrong people. Not once, but twice!
The letting agency gave them the person to contact and they took days to do so.

They finally did yesterday, and Mr C's employer assured them we were all good. Which got me all excited- we could finally sign the contract, get the keys and move in!!!

The letting agency rang them today to finalise it all.... and there is no record of the conversation yesterday!

AAAAARGH!!!! I'm so angry and frustrated! How can any company be so disorganised? They had to make one phone call and get back to the letting agency. How can anyone possibly make that last a month?

Not a happy bunny It's so frustrating too because I can't make any weekend plans as I have no idea when we'll be able to move in. I was planning my birthday party for this weekend on the assumption that we'd have been living there for 3 weeks already. It's like I have to put my whole life on hold, ready to move in at any time.

Grrrr!!!!!! The amount these people charge to make that call, yes, it should certainly take less than a month. You could even expect it to go to the right person if you were optimistic but lets not go mad eh?

Just heard that they are now only accepting a reference on Company-headed paper faxed over. Only head office have company-headed paper and they're not the people to do the reference. So we have to submit the form all over again, which could take up to another 2 weeks to go through.

The fee we are paying for this is ridiculous! We're going to file a formal complaint and they had better give us some of the money back!

Sorry to hear this honey. I have been in similar situations in the past and I know how annoying it is.

Oh dear, I'm waiting to hear back from an estate agents at the moment too, it's not a fun time is it?! I'm going to be homeless if they don't hurry up before my current house isn't mine anymore! Eeep! Good luck! xxx

Oh no!! That's awful!

We're quite lucky in that we live with Mr C's mum at the moment.

Grrr! This must be super frustrating for you, December!

I hate disorganised companies, espeically banks!!!! (Don't even get me started on banks!)

Hope they can sort out all this hooey asap!
