Best Ferry for Bestival
Hi all
I am going to be performing at Bestival this year and I needed some advice. I am going to be driving down in a small van as I am doing 5 different slots so lots of costumes involved.
What is the best ferry to get?
Thanks

I have no helpful advice unfortunately but wanted to say I'll see you there!
I'll be one of the Gateaux Vivants for the Time for Tease tent
Haven't bought my ferry tickets either...must get onto that...

Probably the Lymington to Yarmouth one, it's the shortest route and you don't have to drive through Portsmouth to get to the Ferry.
Although I'm a little biased as it's only a few miles down the road from me

Diva, silly question but performing at Bestival on the Isle of Wight or Camp Bestival at Lulworth ? Only on your website you say Camp Bestival, in which case no ferry required

Thanks for the tip honey
I am doing both Camp Bestival and Bestival. I am just trying to sort out all my transport for the next couple of months and this is the last thing I need to do.

Ah in that case definately Lymington to Yarmouth, easy to get to, come down M27 until you get to J1, then drive down to Lyndhurst then follow signs to Lymington and when you get there follow signs to Ferry, bear in mind that the stretch of road from the M27 to Lyndhurst can get very busy at weekends, I've seen 2 hour queues on that short stretch of road. If the traffic is heavy come off at J2 instead and take the A326 down until you get to the A35 to Lyndhurst, this is a slightly slower route but is a lot less likely to have a massive traffic jam as it allows you to avoid the one way system in Lyndhurst.
The alternative is to go through Portsmouth which tends to be one huge traffic jam for much of the day, probably not too bad though if you go across after the evening rush hour

Oooh! Hooray!
I'm going, I shall definitely come and see you Diva.
We're going from Manchester to Southampton to East Cowes on the Red Funnel, it's a vehicle and passenger ferry.

I think the routes pretty straight forward, it'll take about 4 hours from Manchester to Southampton, we're going down on the Wed staying on the IoW in a travelodge on the wed night then getting to the site on Thursday to set up camp.
Any ideas who else is performing?

Oh thats great news I have never managed to one of your events. I am performing on Saturday night but will be able to pop along after.
Okay well I am sure that Zoe will not mind me saying who is on.
Liberty Pink , Kitten Von Strumpet, Rose Thorne, Kitty Bang Bang, Agent Lynch, Tallulah Mockingbird, Crimson Skye, Lil' Miss Chievous, Des O'Connor, Tallulah Tempest, Kiki Kaboom, The Teasemaids and myself.
I am really looking forward to it and I am sure there will be other names to be announced. I am performing four shows
16: 40 on Friday,
14 :30 on Saturday
17 30 on Saturday
and the big show on Saturday night at 11 o'clock.
Sadly I have to go on Sunday early as I have to get home and sort myself for a weeks work in Geneva. But very excited about that to so don't mind.
Looking forward to seeing everyone there if its half as fun as Camp Bestival was its going to be fantastic.
Hugs

Oh brilliant, I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone!
Inbetween the acts myself and two other lovely burlesque ladies (not sure exactly who at this stage) will be posing for your pleasure as Gateaux Vivants in various appropriate Bestival themes.
Please come and say hi! I'm sourcing appropriately beautiful wellies in preparation
