Default New York's Finest Burlesque in Glasgow: TONIGHT! **Sat 21st Nov**

This is uber-last minute but I only found out about this a couple of hours ago so....

If you're not doing anything tonight, some of New York City's hottest performers will be in Glasgow doing a show this very evening! I saw the show last night in Edinburgh (it seems to have been very underpromoted sadly) but it was INCREDIBLE and I woud highly recommend you pop along and check it out! Featuring burlesque legend Miss Julie Atlas Muz and cast of NYC's most talented burlesque stars, it's an awesome (and rare!) opportunity for Glasgow to witness proper American-style burlesque (which is quite unlike anything you will have seen at most of our regular Scottish burlesque shows, I can guarantee you!)
    See below for more info...
I will be heading along, hope to see some friendly faces there!
    Daiquiri xx

All the way from one of New York City's most infamous burlesque venues...

THE SLIPPER ROOM - MR. CHOADE'S WILD RIDE!!

    • After 10 years as the driving force behind theNew York burlesque scene, the Slipper Room is taking its unique brand of burlesque and variety on the road. The Slipper Room's show, Mr. Choade's Wild Ride,is a mix ofcomedy, music, strip tease, contortion, acrobatics, and truth telling.
    • As direct heir to the New York performance art scene, Mr. Choade's Wild Ride delivers a full evening's entertainment that's equal parts provocation and amusement. Using the classic vaudeville variety, the show lampoons popular culture and the current reliance on irony.
    • With a touring band that will make you perk up in all the right places. Playing their own set and also playing with the burlesque show will include members of Echo and the Bunnymen, Teenage Fanclub, Belle & Sebastian and The Vaselines. Basically the creme de la creme of the Glasgow scene.

    WHEN? Saturday 21st October, 7-10pm
    WHERE? The Classic Grand, Glasgow
    TICKETS? £10 on the door

Gutted we missed this last night, especially as we were just having a quiet night in!

And sorry, but we can't make it over to Glasgow tonight either as we are pre-booked for an evening with a bunch of Scots & Aussies in an open air venue.

Hope anyone that goes has a blinding time, and let us know all about it!

Well they're in Aberdeen on Monday! I'd travel ANYWHERE to see Julie Atlas Muz. Even Aberdeen...

Suzuki and I have just returned after seeing a teaser for the show at La Cheetah on Queen St, Glasgow in the company of Dolly Tartan. It was pure luck since we were already in the city centre when we heard of the show. We'd have loved to have seen the full show and would recommend Aberdeen on Monday for those able to make it along.

Here's a little pic taken at the Slipper Room mini-show at La Cheetah on Queen St, Glasgow on Sunday night.

L-R New York Burlesque DJ Miss Harvest Moon, Miss Dolly Tartan, Suzuki Sparks

The night was a great laugh for all.

If anyone can name the DJ reliably, I'll edit the caption.
