The Gatsby Club Launch Night - Glasgow's first 1920's themed club night!
The Gatsby Club, Glasgow's newest and exclusive 1920's themed club night is back!! After a hugely successful preview night back in November we are very pleased to announce that our official launch night will take place on Friday 29th April, the day of the Royal Wedding but also a bank holiday, hurrah!!
The evening will kick off with a variety show featuring music hall comedy, ragtime bands, jazz singers, charleston dancers, burlesque acts, magicians and much more, all inspired by this decadent era.
Afterwards they'll be a DJ set featuring the best of the 1920's and beyond, which will go on into the wee small hours allowing guests to dance the night away in true flapper and sheik fashion! As we're all aware the era didn't favour the more subdued styles of dance, so on hand will be our very own Jeeves who shall assist you with refreshments made available to you from our exquisite (and very cheaply priced!) 1920's cocktail menu.
The evening will take place in the beautiful surroundings of The Debates Chamber in Glasgow University Union (GUU) situated in the popular West End of Glasgow. There will be a strict dress code for the evening so no jeans or trainers please! Think back to the roaring 20's and there are two sides to the era: prohibition, speakeasies, illicit gambling and gangsters epitomised by Al Capone; or think 'all that jazz', black and white movies, flappers and fedoras. We're encouraging you to be as over-the-top as possible!
Doors: 8pm
Show: 9pm
Tickets: £10/£8 (students & members) Don't forget to bring along your Gatsby Club membership card for your discount!!
Tickets will be available on the door, however to ensure entry on the night you can buy your ticket in advance by going to www.thegatsbyclub.co.uk and clicking on the PayPal link on the 'Info' page.
We look forward to seeing you all in your glam rags for what is sure to be another rip roaring evening of live entertainment and music to dance the night away!WARNINGWarning: This is an Old Thread
