Studio 24
Hi galz and guyz
I'm a newbie and would love to go to Stduo24 on Friday.
Can you buy tickets online, and what's the best mode of transport?

well ive had an answer back from tina warren at CN, re my thoughts on sat, but she only said that she has had glowing reports back and that everyone enjoyed themselves and how packed a night it was..well that im sorry is not true..yes at the start it was busy but by 12 it was much quieter..anyway my gripe was more the fact that after the acts it was a dance evening but the music WAS VERY POOR!! ps if you chq out the latest reviews im sure it mentions the so called rape performance, as i said b4 i never saw it and none of my frends mentioned it to me.

As I wasn't at the event I am in no position to judge its quality but from what I can tell from reading the reviews on EdFringe.com and indeed from the fact that you felt moved to post about it, Carramia, is that there are a lot of unhappy campers out there.
I'm saddened to hear that that's the reply you got; it seems wrong and unpleasantly arrogant to me from a event managers standpoint to argue with you, a patron, making a justifiable complaint. You weren't happy with what you paid for - and at £20 you paid a lot - therefore arguing with you that other people were happy therefore you should be too is irrelevant and to be frank, unprofessional. Check whether or not your ticket states that refunds are unavailable, if it does then unfortunately there is little point in arguing, if not you are entitled to request and indeed receive your refund. Aside from anything else your comments should have been taken on board and the reply you received should have been polite, apologetic and appropriately objective.
£20 is a heck of a lot of money, particularly for a Fringe show, when the ethos is meant to be affordable, quality theatre for all. The only shows that can really get away with that are things like La Clique where the quality is so out of this world you don't care what you pay, it's still worth it, or in the case of big-name celebrity comics (i.e Joan Rivers, Bill Bailey) whose prices are always going to be high.
In Glasgow, Club Noir is always a popular night out and works well in the Carling Academy and I was genuinely surprised by the volume of complaints so soon after the event. Mistakes were obviously made but as long as they recognise them and attempt to fix them I'm sure they will maintain their following.

thanks lucille, youve said a lot of what i said on my email to tina@CN, but we no longer have our tickets as they were taken from us, we could not even keep the stub, i was at work this evening, or should i say last nite as it is 00.41 @ the mo and jared one of my wrkmates was at CN with his wife and it was also the first time theyve attended, well he told me they left after the first act and that was abt 11ish..ish..both very dissapointed also, but ive tried to persuade them to come on friday to tease to try again and not let sat put them off totally, so i'll see you all on friday and iKNOW THIS WILL BE A STONKINGINGLY BRILLIANT EVENING!!!XXX

Strangely, there's been a sudden rush of 5 star reviews on the edfringe site - all slating the bad reviews and accusing them of having unrealistic expectations of the event and saying that it's innapropriate for people to slag off the night on an open forum! It's weird because the whole point of the edfringe reviews page is that people get to post their opinion on the event, good or bad in order to give a balanced view.
It's great that the fans of Club Noir feel strongly enough about the event to post a response to the bad reviews but there doesn't seem to be any balance - it's all "Some of these whingers say they won't come back- GOOD!!! We don't want people like you at our favourite club. CLUB NOIR ROCKS!!! YEAH MAN!!!!!" (actual quote!) And no real dialogue about what the failings might have been.
I'd like to hear some balanced opinions from folk who had a good time but felt there were problems or folk who didn't enjoy it but could see that lots of other folk were having fun. Seems strange that there are such disparate camps!
