Lucille Burn singing at Spangled Cabaret - Monday 1st September
Just to let all you Scottish MoBsters aware; I will be singing some sultry, cabaret classics at Spangled Cabaret on Monday 1st September.
Spangled Cabaret is a uniquely eccentric and cosy little cabaret experience held at Cafe Rio in Hyndland, Glasgow. It's free and you get a great atmosphere, live music and weird & wonderful burlesque and cabaret acts - including a regular spot from the very excellent Miss Leggy Pee. So if you are in town, come on down.
I will also be at the bar post-performance providing all of the previous Sunday nights Candybox Burlesque gossip if someone were to furnish me with a gin!
See y'all there.

I should be at the very least attending this, if not performing (depending on how quickly I get home from Candy Box on Monday!)
And if and when I get there, there will be a gin with your name on it in my tender hand!

Ohh bloody hell! I was going to give Spangled a miss (AGAIN) because I figured travelling back from CB would take it out of me. But you two are going so I can't really use that as an excuse (not unless we get back really late - what time does it kick off?)
Will try and actually make it to this one - I was ill for the last two and the trains were off! But Maybe This Time....

Okay, I'll be there Miss Burn! Promise!* Off work the next day too, so I can always catch up on sleep then...
Maybe you should start on the gins before going on stage... Then again, perhaps not...
* Promise... ish. We've been known to arrive home at 10-10.30pm from Brumland, which might be a touch late.

Ergh, methinks it might, if I remember correctly it starts around 7.30ish. Nevermind if you don't make it, I'm sure you're sick to the back teeth of hearing me sing and you'll have had my drunken ramblings to deal with the previous evening anyway

Gin makes you tough!

He's been starting it around 8pm the last couple of times, and (wait for it) adhering to a RUNNING ORDER (shock horror!) in order to finish by 11pm. This is so that the noisy stuff is all done by a reasonable time, and then the upstairs neighbour doesn't complain (and call out the police)
Being a logistics kind of girl, would it be worthwhile me pointing out that as Lucille has to get from A (birmingham) to B (Glasgow) in a mode of transport that allows her to be in time for Spangled, it must therefore be possible for Carrie to get from A to B in the same time slot, if she takes the same mode of transport?
IE - if Carrie got a lift from Brum with Lucille & Rufus, she could make Spangled in time?
of course this might mean cutting short any plans Carrie had for Monday en famille so it might not work out that neatly... but thought I'd suggest anyway!
Deirdre
(who really should get her outfit for Sunday sorted out some time soon!!!)

Wellll I have no idea what family plans are on Monday (c'mon, we're talking my family here! As if anyone's made any plans!)... and you know what The Lunch is usually like. I suspect we'll be babysitting maybe because the *BOB* workshops are on.
However, if it's alright with L&R (and my family) then aye... that might be a idea.
I think there's a gap in market for Rhymes With Purple Cabs and a customer of one.

There are loads of flights from Brum to Glasgow - is that an option price-wise?
Looking at flights available on 1 September and returning to Brum on 2 September, using Opodo, a return looks to be about £120. That's just from Flybe.
Dunno if that helps with the travel permutations.

Oh thanks but no, I'm not going to start paying for other travel methods - don't need to get back that urgently!
I will be going back up the road with my parents in the car that day, and if I'm too late for Spangled it'll be a shame but no biggie. It would just be nice to get the chance to go.
Thanks for looking, though!
