Smile MoB Academy on BBC - be part of the audience, Sat 21st Feb, Glasgow

Fancy being part of a BBC audience?

BBC Alba, the new-ish BBC Digital channel is making a 4-part series called 'Cul Nan Dorsan'/'Behind Closed Doors' which is looking at various jobs/activities which will hopefully be of interest to our target audience of 18-30 year olds and one of them is going to be on Burlesque dancing. (The other 3 are event stewarding, a homeless charity, and stand-up comedy.)
The format of the programmes is one where we follow a young presenter trying to learn about each individual subject by speaking to people who are involved and being taught the ropes to some extent and finally aiming to do the job/activity at the end of the show.
So for the burlesque programme, we see Linda (our young presenter) being in the audinece at this year's High Tease in Edinburgh and giving her views on her first ever Burlesque show (which were very favourable).
We then see her going to a couple of shops in Glasgow (Betsy LaBelle and Hellfie Couture) to be given advice by a stylist on what might be best to wear when performing, being given a fan dance lesson by Gypsy Charms and finally, taking part in a burlesque show we're putting on in the Britannia Panopticon in Glasgow.
Judith Bowers, who runs the Panopticon, is going to be our compere and we'll film the show as it happens.

The show and filming starts at 7pm and stars:

    Viva Misadventure
    Daiquiri Dusk
    Impressive Johnson
    Vendetta Vain

So, pop along to the Britannia Panopticon, Glasgow between 6 and 7pm on Saturday if you fancy seeing some of the MoB's finest strutting their stuff.

    Nice one Gypsy.

Suzuki Sparks and my good self will be in attendance. We may even remember some basic Gaelic...... you never know. It should be a good night although I should warn anyone attending to take along the chemical handwarmers and cosiet bloomers. The Panopticon is a beautiful old girl, but she's a little chilly at this time of year
Smouldering like the charred remnants of the British Economy.....

I'd love to come, however this is the first weekend Lilly and I have had free in months, and the coming weeks are jam packed too, so I've been told we're staying home!

(There's also the problem of getting a late notice puppy-sitter!)

Anyway, I'm sure it'll be a great night! :twothumbs:

However, listen to the doctor, the old girl will probably be FREEZING, so wrap up warm! We don't want all of you having the sniffles at Kabarett next friday! :eyebrows:

For anyone who hasn't been before the Panopticon is an amazing building and well worth a look even without the show!
