Movers & Shakers - Glasgow, 26th March
Hi Folks,
The MoB are set to begin their Movers and Shakers events in Glasgow very soon. In fact the first is scheduled for the 26th March at the Britannia Panopticon Music Hall, Trongate.
The event is for all performers of all levels of experience so as to get that essential stage time - whether it's old timers trying out a new act or new comers taking to the stage for the first time... All performers are welcome to apply.
The event is free but donations and raffles will be encouraged to raise money for the restoration of this historic building.
Acts wishing to take part should PM me right away with details of their intended piece and contact information.
Movers & Shakers is in association with Dancehouse and MoB Academy and the Dancehouse students will be debuting their brand-spanking-new 'Schwing It' piece.
Definitely not to be missed!WARNINGWarning: This is an Old Thread

Oh wow this sounds like a brilliant event, I would love to be a part of it, but I haven't even had lessons, although there is no doubt in my mind that I would be able to get a performance together for the 27th of March..

Go for it Lilith. You will learn so much from trying stuff out on stage and get great feedback. If there was anyway I could get to Glasgow on that date I'd jump at the chance....but I've just tried my various options for babysitters and its a no go

Just what I was going to ask - is it open for punters too? And what time does it start/finish?

Aw, not sure if I'll be able to go along to this night as I agreed to go to a pub quiz! I always love seeing shows at the panopticon too, especially seeing the rise of up and coming burlesque performers. It's the perfect venue. Whenever Im there I always feel as though there are so many ghosts from the past that still remain there, quietly watching the performances....such an amazing atmosphere!

If I'm not ironing pyjamas or covering a cuddly panda toy in fake blood (for the love of all things bad, bad and terrible, don't ask), I may come along to this. The Panopticon is a lovely venue. Although, if the weather in Glasgow is anything like it is today, I strongly advise taking a warm coat or hot water bottle. No lie.
