I'm heading to Club Noir next weekend also! My first ever burlesque night really looking forward to it! Not entirely sure what to expect but sure it will be fun! Can't wait to get dressed up

I was considering going because some old friends of mine were, but I don't think I can stomach it after all.
I used to go at the very start, just as it moved to the Carling about four and a half years ago and it was magical. I didn't miss a single one. Now, in the last two years, the few times I've gone have disappointed me badly. Possibly if I went with no illusions about how great it once was I'd enjoy it but I really find it sad the way it has changed. The crowds are increasingly obnoxious and there is no sense of community any longer.
It's just a regular club night now, nothing special. But, for some people that's what they're looking for, so each to their own.

And don't just take his word for it, have a look here and see for yourself just what you'll get for your money!
Sat 11th July - The Missy & Leyla Show
I've actually never made it to a Club Noir yet but I know people who go regularly and love it. I think it depends what you're looking for from your burlesque show - from what I gather, Club Noir very much has its own way of doing things which isn't for everyone. But they have a very faithful following - the Academy is a big ol' venue to fill! I guess you just have to go not expecting anything in particular and judge it yourself when you get there.
