    Default Glasgow Subway Festival

    Hey everyone

This weekend is the Glasgow Subway Festival- two days of performance, events and activities in and around the Subway network. There will be performance on every train throughout the weekend with wandering monsters, minstrels, musicians, magic, storytelling, installations, comedy and theatre. It’s a street theatre festival that goes over and under the ground. As well as entertainment on the move, there are lots of free overground activities – from breakdance and beatbox workshops to samba bands and gospel choirs. Check out the full programme at What's On :: The Subway Festival 09.

For £3.50 you get a full day ticket that can take you all around the network and gets you special offers at festival events across the city. If the entertainment on your train isn’t your cup of tea, just hop off and see what is on the next one. Watch out, it could take longer than usual to get where you’re going, but it will be a lot more fun!

I'll be performing, as my alter ego Miss Leggy Pee, between 2.45pm and 4pm on Saturday and Sunday, performing 15 minute sets at each of four different stages set up around some of the main stations on the Subway network.

Then on Saturday evening you can catch some of Glasgow's best burlesque performers at the Starlight Dinner Cabaret at Sloans, Argyle St. The line up includes Daiquiri Dusk, Miss Hell's Belle, Cat Aclysmic, the Kitsch Cats, and myself. Show at 7pm and repeated at 8.30pm. Tickets are listed as £17.50 which includes 2 course dinner and complimentary drink. Not sure how much it is without dinner, but I'll find out!

Humming the Jam's "Going Underground" to myself now...

The subway festival is looking like it will be fab!

With regards to the Starlight Dinner Cabaret, tickets are for dinner and a show (no tickets just for the show as it will be running throughout the meal and capacity is limited) I'm afraid. But, you shall get some extremely nice grub, plus a classy show of cabaret, dance, burlesque and magic for the price of your ticket! Plus, for the first show (7pm) there are a limited number of tickets available on the Art & Ride offer - which means you get 2 for 1 on tickets with a subway ticket for that day.
Check the subway festival website for more info.
Our line-up for the Starlight Dinner Cabaret has now been officially confirmed as:

Mdme Mwfanwy - Our fabulous compere and host
Cat Aclysmic - fiery lady of burlesque
The Kitsch Cats - energetic & highly entertaining dance duo
Miss Hells Belle - fan dancing beauty
Miss Leggy Pee - with Charlie of course!
    Andy - our magician extraordinaire
Gilda Lily - high-kicking burley showgirl
    Daiquiri Dusk - that's me!

If classy cabaret is not so much your style, and you prefer a bit of dirty rock'n' roll, you should head down to Rockwork Orange on sunday - live bands and some naughty burlesque from the Rockaburley Girlies....
Phew! It's going to be a busy weekend!

I wish I'd known about Starlight Cabaret a couple of weeks ago - I'd have asked not to work on Saturday. The annoying thing is Saturday is my ONLY backshift - normally I'd be done by 6pm but I probably won't be out until after midnight!

Also working at 8am on Monday so can't go out rocking and rolling on Sunday night.

    I am rubbish at life.

This is going to be an awesome and exhausting weekend. And I'm not even performing, just taking photos!
I better finish editing my Rockaburley pics today so I don't have *too* big a backlog come Monday...
    Oh dear.
    Can't wait.

The Subway Festival is the reason I have not left the office before 10pm for about a fortnight!!!

Myself and the rest of the project management team are in the office right now agonising over production and performer schedules - the kettle is on, the coffee is brewing and we are getting ready for another late one!

We go live tomorrow evening with our star-studded press launch, wish us luck, we are into the final stages of about 6 months of MAJOR work!

I encourage all of you to come down and get on the trains if you can, it's going to be amazing! As far as we are aware there is nothing (official) like this festival anywhere else in the world!

    What's On :: The Subway Festival 09

I am flying out to NYC immediately after the closing party on Sunday night so I will be back in the land of the living by the first week of June!

From Subway Festival HQ this is Lucille Burn, over and out!

For those of you who have enquired about the 2 for 1 offer on the early Starlight Dinner Cabaret show...

I've just been informed that all of our 2 for 1 tickets are now gone I'm afraid... but there are still standard tickets left, so do prebook if you're coming to make sure you don't miss out!

    Another wee ticket update...

Our 7pm show is almost sold out - only a handful of tickets left so if you want them, get them now!
The 8.30pm show has a few more left, but they are selling quickly so don't forget to reserve them in advance if you're coming down; we'd hate to have to turn anyone away!
