HIGH TEASE - Edinburgh Fringe Festival!
10 spell-binding dates at the illustrious Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2009! 12-23rd August will see Des O’Connor, Jim Devereaux, The Kitsch Kats, Spencer Maybe, Toff & Tales, Gypsy Charms, Viva Misadventure and more in this amazing burlesque variety show. No two shows will be the same over this two-week run and the 19th-23rd will also see Mr B. The Gentleman Rhymer bring his unique brand of 'chap hop' to Scotland for the first time ever!
Blond Ambition Events are proud to present the Ministry of Burlesque’s High Tease, an uproarious revue of razor-wit and frisky burlesque. Designed as a sit-down cabaret (or supper club), High Tease is the notorious show which has swept the UK’s finest venues and fashionable circles in a frenzy of bawdy antics, sex appeal and musical comedy.
“Raising the barre” for others to follow, High Tease has its focus firmly on the very best of new variety, crafty burlesquing and traditional entertainment delivered with 21st century sass and high production values.
High Tease – “Critics Choice” (Time Out, London) – is a favourite of celebrities, critics, performers and purveyors alike. Nationwide and abroad, private and public High Tease is a favourite for sophisticated festivals and private celebrations having entertained the industry glitterati at the Cannes Film Festival and made many special occasions totally unforgettable.

i stayed at the holiday inn express on cowgate and it was £49 which is pretty reasonable for edinburgh, although with the fringe being on it might be dearer now i should imagine  it wasn't even slightly fancy but i don't think you'd be bothered about that lol! and from what i remember it was only about a fiver in a taxi from the hotel to the venue.

Hey Suds,
I too am really looking forward to the High Tease shows at the Fringe & if you haven't been before the Voodoo Rooms is a very fine venue indeed!
It can be very difficult to locate a centrally located hotel room in Edinburgh during the Fringe, many are booked up 12 months in advance, those you can find are rarely very keenly priced (which is the big minus point of having the worlds largest performing arts festival on your doorstep for a month!) - I recommend the Holiday Inn on Picardy Place (walking distance from all the big venues & the Voodoo Rooms), Holiday Inn Express on Cowgate (as mentioned) and the Ibis on Hunter Square - best to give them a call to check for availability as they may have cancellations which don't appear online. Also Pilrig Street has many lovely little B&Bs which are around a 5-10 minute taxi ride from the city.
I do hope you can visit Edinburgh, the Fringe is fantastic and High Tease is sure to be one of the major highlights this year and, well I'm completely biased, but (tram works aside) we have a smashing wee city!!
