yes I am about to debut and act to metal music. Its sort mixture of Burlesque with elements of belly dance. The song I using is called angel Its by a band called Winter's Eve are gonna be big! (myspace.com/winter's eve)

I know my better half, Lilly de Lure, has done routines to songs by Lordi, Hayseed Dixie (tenuous, but they were inspired by AC/DC), Turisas, Nightwish, and has one planned for a track by Finntroll (Finish metal is impressively random! ). Dani California does a fantastic routine to a Chilli's track, and I know there are others.

I think what I'm trying to say is that Burlesque is a broad church, and metal has bashed down the doors on more than one occasion!

if anyone wants to run a show like this drop me a line.

I can host it in The Guilty Lily and can get cheap staging nd offer my own P.A.. Personally I'm more into the Classic metal Goth styles as well as 70's rock but I've been to more than 100 gigs and promoted and attended a few Burly Events.

This would be great to run oposite to the Retribution nights at the Studios? Loads of Characters in full dress and drag there that would probably love an alternative to the same dark room!

This sounds like a fabulous idea!
A couple of my routines are to rock/heavy metal tracks and I absoloutely love it! They're amazing to get all bouncy to! Plus it is my favourite genre of music .
If a night like this was to go ahead, I'd be definitely up for that!

If this goes ahead I'd pay good money to see a performance to some Doom Metal - Cathedral & Neurosis being my personal recommendations

I use alot of rock alternative music, I think putting the burlesque aesthetic to new music is really effective. I remember darkteaser saying she could tassle twirl to raining blood by slayer, that'd be something to see!

I'd love a night like this. My mates love Club Noir but they hate the music so I think a Metal burley night would really pull in the crowds. I think the Classic Grand would be a great venue in Glasgow. There is a small stage and a well established rock crowd already gather there on most weekends.
