Welsh Burlesque weekend?
Hello lovelies,
what do you all think of staging a Welsh Burlesque Weekend? I'm sure there's enough interest in Wales now to make ticket sales viable? what does everyone think of a weekend event that would include two evening shows (fri and sat night), workshops and newbie showcases in the day, vintage clothes swap, stalls?
Let me know your thoughts!

Sounds like a good idea to me, and a good opportunity to showcase a wide variety of burlesque types over two shows! x

Great idea, we've been talking about it for the last couple of years, but I think this year would be good with the wealth of Welsh talent that's around now. There are lots of talented & interested people in different areas & it would be great to get everyone together in one place. All the shows I've performed in/watched locally seem to be packed or sold out, & I know your shows have been popular down west, so I'm sure there's an audience for it!
As a start, I'd definitely be up for running costume making workshops, a costume stall & performing. I'm sure FooFoo LaBelle would love to run a dance workshop, there's lots of vintage clothing retailers around in South Wales & lots of local performers, so I think it would be easy enough to find people willing to participate.
It would just take a lot of organising!http://www.mydelilah.co.uk Burlesque & Pin-up Costumes & Accessories

EXCITED! That all sounds a good plan... I'm good at organising ;-) What about having it in Cardiff? I'm sure my good friend Titty Amour, who runs shows in west Wales would love to be involved too (Sorry Titty, I'm speaking for you here, and you're probably reading this thinking, 'What??!!')... We just need a dat and a venue to start the ball rolling, I think! What does everyone think? XX

Cardiff's good, (maybe a bit biased since i live in cardiff lol), there's a few venues that would be good like the coal exchange, millenum music hall, and o'neils to name a few. There's probably loads more but can't think off the top of my head at the moment lol. Also there's a new club called bogiez which is due to open soon in their own venue and i know the people who will be running it wouldn't mind holding a burlesque night there.

Would be good to have one big venue rather than a string of small ones... I have contacts ;-)
Would be great to make this happen! If promoters of already established nights want to get involved, PM me and we'll sort some kind of meeting (over a coffe and cake - lol!) to see if it's viable/ do-able and all the rest... X

Yes, I do think it would be great to have a central venue for the weekend. Good to hear you're up for making it happen! We'll all do our bit when needed as well. I'll mention it to FooFoo as she has most of the year's dates planned out for the big Burlesque Cardiff shows & it would be good to work around them as there's so many of us down here who would like to get involved.
Datewise- please please don't hold it Glastonbury weekend or Elvis Festival weekend (Sept 22-25)!!
How exciting!http://www.mydelilah.co.uk Burlesque & Pin-up Costumes & Accessories
