Welsh Burlesque Festival 2012
A grand celebration of National burlesque talent will be hitting Cardiff as the cream of the country’s performers take to the stage for the very first Wales Burlesque Festival, March 31 2012.
The first Welsh Burlesque Festival will be a one day event where audiences will not only be able to see some of Wales’ most popular professional burlesque performers together on one line-up in an exciting evening show which will provide the high point of the festival, they’ll also be able to witness up-and-coming artists in the afternoon ‘Teatime Tease’ showcase, which also includes high tea.
In addition to the live shows, festival-goers can try the art of burlesque for themselves in workshops that range from chair dancing to making burlesque accessories, hosted by Wales-based professionals throughout the day, and as if that’s not enough, there will also be a vintage fair with stalls selling handcrafted and vintage items.
Presented by Burlesque Cardiff and Bluestocking Lounge, the festival will highlight the diverse range of burlesque artistes here in Wales, with the emphasis on home-grown talent exhibiting an array of styles from comedy and classic to neo-burlesque, with the aim of inspiring audiences and performers alike by bringing a first class event to the Welsh capital.
The festival will be held at Cardiff’s historic Guildford Hall and entry prices range from £3 for the vintage fair only to £15 for shows and workshops. There are also combined ticket discount deals and passes for those who want to enjoy the whole festival.

Can't wait for this! I'm very excited about teaching my bra embellishment workshop at this fantastic event! Learn how to create your own sparkly masterpiece to take home, & pick up tips & ideas for customising your own clothing to give them a new lease of life. All materials, sequins, trims, feathers etc provided from my extensive stock - just bring a plain bra & your imagination!
Remember performers - the deadline to apply to perform is January 31st, so there's still time yet. Good luck!

Just to update everyone on the proceedings...
We've now chosen all the artists for the WBF... they'll be announced very soon on the website Welshburlesquefestival.com
BUT we still have a few spaces for stall holders - if anyone wants to come and sell their wares head over to the website and click on the vintage stalls tab...
Tickets are going fast - particularly the all-day passes and places for the showgirl and make over workshops are almost full! We still have places left on the chair dance and bra embellishment workshops and all workshops are led by industry professionals...
We hope to see you there! X

I can't believe after a year of planning - and the initial idea kicked around on this very site! - that the Welsh Burlesque Festival is happening tomorrow!
Looking forward to meeting some new faces and hopefully introducing a few new people to the scene!

Hi,
Do you have any plans for a Welsh Burlesque Festival for 2013? I'd love to get involved, and also find fellow Welsh Burlesque performers to hook up with.
Cheers xx
